Re: Need help picking a computer
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go for the GTX 750. It'll struggle with most games at 1080p. (That come out from this point onwards)
You might want to look into the GTX 950, which has just come out. It offers near GTX 960 like performance. The GTX 950 restores the x50 series of nVidia cards to their original glory imo. Back in the day, the 550 Ti was all you needed to get into the action @ 1080p. Nowadays it's the 960. With the release of the 950, that has changed.
Purchase the one with 4GB of RAM and just add another 4GB kit later. Simple.
I'd recommend looking for an SLI enabled motherboard on the cheap. You can get a GTX 960/950 now, and then just SLI another one of em' into your PC when they drop to dirt cheap prices sometime next year. Even better if you can do that with the 4GB version. You'll not be using more than 3GB of (video) memory at 1080p, but monitors get cheaper as time pass and soon 1440p (?) will be the norm on PCs.
