Post Printer Question

Okay, I have a feeling this might sound really stupid or be really simple, but here goes anyway.

Does Windows XP have the automatic printer power off thing that previous versions of Windows had? I've had a look round the Control Panel and stuff and can't see it anywhere. If it does have it can someone tell me where it is please? If it doesn't, then not to worry, I guess.

I don't know about that.

But I know windows xp is a pain in the ass for things like that, (i use xp as well) I know I have to turn mine off manually.

I thought they would have made it better, fore some printers and scanners arn't even compatible with that operating system.

But on to your query Flash, I'm sorry but I don't have an answer for that one.

ACPI? That means nothing to me.

Windows 95 had a really simple way of doing it. It was one of the tabs in the Printer section of the Control Panel or something, saying "Auto Power-Off Settings", and you could set how long the printer stayed on for before the computer turned it off for you. I can't believe it's not in a more recent version of Windows. Oh, hang on, yes I can.

Well, I have been looking for a way to do an Auto Power-off for Windows XP, and tried the ACPI settings but seems it doesn't work. Currently, I'm doing what Rajah said..
