Question Google Play question.

I found a game on Google Play that I desperately want to check out and try out. It's free, it's a fan-made game, totally legal and above-board. But I don't have a phone, or anything with a touch-screen. All I have is an old laptop with a touchpad for a mouse. Is there any way to play Google Play games on a regular laptop, if the game is free?

Re: Google Play question.

Yup. There is an Android Emulator that lets you download and play android apps on your PC.

Just search up Android Emulator and you'll find one on the first link.

Re: Google Play question.

Bluestacks. The absolute best for that sort of thing.

Though if you have an older PC, you might have trouble running it. I have a dual core i7 with 6gb ram and some games run choppy on bluestacks.

As a rule of thumb, emulation always requires something that's at least twice as powerful as the system a program is designed to run on.

Re: Google Play question.

I DLed Bluestacks, but I can't seem to find the Google Play app. It says I need to log in with my Gmail account into Google Play before I can DL the game.

You need to make a google account (email address) and you should be good to go.

Welcome, newcomers. The tradition of Festivus begins with the airing of grievances. I got a lot of problems with you people! And now you're gonna hear about it!

Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reach for the last one they had but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way!-Frank Costanza

That's the thing though. I do have a Gmail account, but I signed into Google Play via the web browser, and it said I needed to sign in through the Google Play app. There is no Google Play app on Bluestacks.

Regardless, I was able to find the app on a different site as an .apk file. Is there a program that just easily lets me load and play .apk files?

http://www.wikihow.com/Install-Andro...-on-Bluestacks

.apk files autorun when selected from the notifications. Select "Package Installer" in the list that pops up.

But yeah. To maximize BlueStacks you have to create or use ur existing Gmail account.

Once you have the play store set up, download a Launcher program and that will help you have a much more user-friendly OS interface.

Re: Google Play question.

So I got Bluestacks, and it runs painfully slow, even though the app I was using was a simple Unity app.

So I go and load it again, and it says I need to either pay money or download a ton of 'sponsored' apps if I want to continue.

Ugh.

Slow. Because your computer is probably not up to specs. Downloading unsolicited apps doesn't harm ur system and you can always uninstall them later.

But it's ur choice. If you'd rather not then don't. It might not work perfectly on your system if it isn't up to specs like I previously mentioned.

Tough luck bro. I know how it feels to not be able to run stuff you really want.
