Need some help with my PC..

So i bought this PC about 3 weeks ago, and i literally can't play anything on it. Not sure what my problem is since it's specs are quite good and my internet is very fast. yet i've tried to play several games (that my much crappier PC's can run perfectly), and i just get lag spikes and freezing. it's basically unable to play anything ...

I've already had it sent back in and they replaced the RAM/Graphics card, yet i'm still having the same problem. i'm probably going to have to send it back in again and get the whole thing replaced or something, but i thought i'd try and post about it and see if anyone can help before i did that.

some of the specs i could find:

it also has a 3TB hard drive.

Re: Need some help with my PC..

Damn, that PC should be powerful enough to run every game without problems. I have an FX8350 and R9 280x, and can run almost every game maxing out graphic options with a good frame rate, so you having frame drops is not normal. Have you checked temperatures? Maybe you have a termal throttling problem. Is your PSU enough to run that monster? A 7970 + FX9350 is a very demanding configuration.

I do have to say that an user of a spanish forum with the same CPU as you and a R9 290, had a lot of trouble with his PC and ended up returning it after months of headaches because of the bad perfomance and other problems. If you have the option, you might consider to return it and get a new one.

Re: Need some help with my PC..

The FX-9xxx series are power sucking monsters, rated at a 220W TDP if I recall correctly. The poster above has a CPU rated at a relatively paltry 125W. I think something might be wrong with your power supply.

The following isn't meant to insult you (I do not know how aware you are of technology/computers in general)...something could be wrong with the drivers/software....

That's very fascinating. Your PC is a beast, it is faster (on paper) than an Xbox One and a Playstation 4 combined....(maybe 2 even )

Teenagers are stupid people who should obey authority, study frequently and listen to almost most things their parents say.
