Quick question on buying a new modem/router.

I currently have AT&T as an internet provider, and I have the terribly slow "Xtreme Direct 6.0" package or some shit like that, and i was looking to replace my modem/router combo. it's a versalink 327w.

it's old as shit & slow as shit. although to be fair, it has survived for a long, long time.

now, i was wondering if this modem here was compatible with my current internet plan.

it's a netgear ADSL2 modem, & tbh i'm not exactly sure what that means. furthermore, i'm looking to get a netgear router to go along with it, an N900 to be exact. i'm not going to do anything crazy, just streaming netflix, hulu, etc. on multiple devices. i'm also in a two story home that is of medium size.

any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Re: Quick question on buying a new modem/router.

Netgear N900 is a good router and considering your usage that you have listed it should work fine for you. As for the modem, you can check with the netgear tech support whether it is compatible with your AT&T plan or not.
