HDTV Help

So I just bought a new 50 inch smart tv and I can't figure out why the picture isn't sharp like it should be. I've tried changing hdmi cables, messing with settings, etc. but the picture still looks too grainy and unrefined.

It's pretty much fine on my xbox one and when I play blu rays but specifically when watching hd tv is when I have the big problem. I've looked through settings on my cable box too and can't figure out anything there either. I'm trying to do anything I can to fix it as I don't want to have to return this bad boy but I know the quality isn't where it should be.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do I really have to say anything?

Re: HDTV Help

What's your video source? You say a cable box. Is it actually an HD cable box and if so are you watching an HD channel and is the HD box set to output HD.

Re: HDTV Help

I've found that it all depends on your cable box, and what signal the cable company is sending.

Most, if not all, broadcast Television networks broadcast in 1080p at 60hz.

Also Google the make and model of your TV and find online forums. I did this for my LG and there are people who post there Television settings for the best picture.

Re: HDTV Help

It is an hd box on hd channels, but I think you may be right about the signal part. I've noticed that the quality varies from channel to channel and time to time.

I called the tv company and they did some tests and they pretty much said the same thing that it has to be the box or the signal.
