The 4 top SS events are Face vs Face

So I'm guessing the two title matches, Lesnar vs Orton, and Cena vs Styles 2 will be the main events. Nothing else is announced but I can't see any matches being bigger than those. Yeah I know Cena and Styles isn't official blah blah but we know it's coming. Anyways the matches are:

Ambrose is cheered and pushed like a face VS. Ziggler who is also both cheered and pushed like a face.

Rollins is cheered like a face and Balor is both cheered and pushed like one.

Lesnar isn't pushed as anything but is cheered as a face VS Orton who is pushed and cheered (kinda lol) as a face.

Cena is pushed and 50% cheered as a face VS Styles who, like Rollins, is cheered like a face.

The only one that's debatable is Lesnar as they may try to turn him heel, but people love Lesnar anyways because he's frickin Brock Lesnar. The failed test along with a hard heel push might sway fans, but I doubt it would happen and I doubt the WWE will even try to. All 4 match ups excite me but I do find the choices odd. The WWE has got to know by now that Rollins and Styles can really do no wrong to the fans eyes, and even though they can play terrific bad guys they always get cheered in big matches.

It will be interesting too see the reception towards Seth as his feud with Balor progresses. If he's going to be booed at all since he's still a heel. He's been cheered since his return, but he was also feuding with Reigns. Although with a lot of people excited for this match at Summerslam, I wouldn't be surprised if both guys get cheered.

Ziggler vs Ambrose can work with both working as babyfaces. I could also see Ziggler turning heel at some point before Summerslam too.

The job of a heel is so much more than simply "getting booed".

Their job is to make the babyface look amazing. Seth Rollins, as a heel, will try to make Finn Balor come out of SS looking like a big star. He'll run away. He'll warp his words. He'll do an excellent job at it.

Whether the crowd boos or cheers him is somewhat relevant, but isn't everything.

Think about it as if you were reading a novel. The hero needs a villain to defeat. Sometimes there are likeable villains, but they still serve a purpose in the overall story that is written for the actual hero.

AJ Styles and Seth Rollins are absolutely playing the roles of heels in their respective matches.

If anything Ambrose could turn. They give Ziggler the hero treatment and will likely factor in his hall of fame induction in the storyline. Plus Ambrose came off way more smug than usual. We'll see.

Lesnar is neither heel or face, he's just Brock. The man might as well be above those alignments at this point.

As for the respective title matches, I predict that Ziggler (in the buildup) and Bálor (during the match itself) will turn.

The most important thing is that everyone in the main events are over. They don't have the "fuck you" heat of Roman or Cena circa before now. Cheered or booed, all the guys are over, look and act like stars (as does Roman tbf) and could all be, or in Brock, Cena, Styles, and Orton's cases are draws. This PPV feels big. It feels fresh.

LOL yeah, just cos Seth and AJ get cheered, that doesn't make them faces. They're still heels. And I've noticed Seth being booed a bit recently, especially against Dean. He has the support of a lot of the fanbase, but not everybody.

I think they'll turn Dolph heel, mainly cos he's been face for AGES now, and you know WWE struggles with face vs face feuds, they get the itch to turn somebody heel :lol I don't think it'll be Dean, and him acting smug means nothing. Faces can be smug lol. And why wouldn't Dean be smug, he won the Shield triple threat and took the title to Smackdown and is on top for once, I'd be smug too :D

I know at the event, I'll be cheering for Dean (obviously), Randy (cos I can't stand Brock), John Cena (cos he's a fave) and as for Seth & Finn, I love them both, so that'll be a hard one for me :lol

Well whether or not they are cheered is completely irrelevant. Take Randy Orton as an example, I was in attendance at Judgement Day 2006 in St. Louis when Randy Orton punted Shawn Michaels and took him out for months. This is one of the most heelish things he has ever done, but every time he came out or was on screen, the fans cheered the hell out of him. I get that it was his hometown crowd and that he should've been cheered, but by your definition, that makes him face for that night. In contrast, Cena has been booed to hell so many times, but has always been face since his Dr. of Thuganomics gimmick. Does that make him heel for the night? No. It depends on the character alignment, not the fan reaction. Rollins, Lesnar, and Styles are all billed as heels right now, which makes 3 out of the 4 main events effectively heel vs face.

Orton v Lesnar - Face v tweener
Ziggler vs Ambrose- Heel vs face
AJ v Cena - Heel v face
Rollins v Balor - Heel v face
Charlotte v Sasha - Heel v face

Fixed, this is what were likely going to see going into Summerslam. Turning Ziggler into a heel is exactly how you repackage him and make him look like a credible title contender. They need to do something to make this match feel bigger. They know face Dolph just lost to Baron Corbin at Extreme Rules and MITB. While he lost to Ambrose on Raw in late May and to Rollins(who Ambrose just beat) on Raw early July. So baby face Dolph isn't going to cut it for this feud.

They need to turn him full heel. Who now if he cheats and uses dirty tricks, he's capable of winning more. Then he can brag about being a 2-time World Champion, 4-time IC Champion, US Champ, before he tried to "please his fans" every week. So a heel turn for Ziggler makes sense for this feud and for Smackdown roster going forward. Considering you got Ambrose, Orton, Cena as top baby faces and only AJ/Wyatt as top heels.
