That's correct, but some anti-virus software will still recognize things as malware if they haven't been updated, even if Google (or anyone) has taken that particular site off the blacklist.

I suppose there's nothing you can really do about that, other than replacing all instances of the URL (ex. images that are being posted on here, probably certain icons others are using) with a "..." and essentially rid the forums of the blacklisted link, but it doesn't seem like very many are having this problem anyway. As long as they realize there's no threat, and if they update their AV (or disable it from running constantly while browsing), they should be good.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. I've been a computer tech for 13 years now, and most computers I work on have Avast, AVG, Norton, or McAfee on them. It doesn't help as much as advertised.

I haven't had any of those on my home or work computers for years. I tell people to download Malwarebytes, and scan 1-2 times a week.

Personally, I have Malwarebytes and a heavily-patched hosts file, along with other programs I only use to fix computers with (ex. HijackThis).

The popup message still shows up for me. It's (http://www.bannerplusapi.com/icons/icons.php) in the source code of all of the threads I've been to tonight.

I know, I slack, but can someone PM a link to malware bytes and this Avast? I don't want to make a mistake and DL a fake. Its happened to me before. Dislike FireFox can't seem to find the ad block, I think that's why I haven't seen this problem yet on chrome with my ad block in full affect.

What is it you're talking about that's in the code, exactly? I'm looking through it, and not seeing anything unusual. I had a similar problem before on both of my message boards that I run, one just recently...but we also had infected board files, so I had to do a complete reinstall and recache, then weed out what I needed to in the database.

If it's something you feel you should PM me with, that's fine...but I mean, every person with a browser has access to a source code. No big deal, though.

Maybe I can help with a solution.
