This is from Vertical Scope following a few complaints from members about unsuitable images in members avatars and signatures

There is blood in the sport. If it is wrestling related that is one thing, but if it has nothing to do with wrestling stars in actual matches then that is another.
So if you have any violent images in your avatar or signature that isn't wrestling related then please remove them.

Cheers

Where do you draw the line though? So I can use some shit like the Mass transit incident and that's alright just because it's wrestling related but some get their panties in a bunch over a gif of a fake head exploding in a movie. I can understand if it were real life grisly news footage or something but it's a damn movie ffs.

I bet you it's not too long when a "concerned" parent emails VS about their young impressionable child being forced to see jiggling asses every time they post here. Watch the uproar that will cause.

I can safely say you've thought about this more than VS has. Their only thought was "Oh noes! A complaint! That's going to mean a drop in ad revenue!"

I don't really have a dog in this race because I'm a free member so I don't get to use gifs in my sig/avvy, but I do like this forum a lot and I think this move by VS is pretty stupid.

BTW, great replacement sig. That has to be the scariest scene in a movie I've ever watched.

Saw my name mentioned above by Seabs. Thought I'd change my signature as to avoid commotion.
Is my Reservoir Dogs gif. off limits? Or is it still alright to use? [just so I know officially]

Furthermore, what degree of violence/gore is permitted in a sig? What's Vertical Scope's criteria for judgment?

Is it a violent image? No. Next thing Itchy & Scratchy will be banned for being "too violent"

Oh, and this all came about because one user - with 2 posts over a 2 year period - sent us a PM, David made a thread within the hour, and 4 hours later VS say it's probably a good idea.
Amazing, something as pathetic as this gets sorted in a matter of hours and real issues get ignored.
