We get some users, like one I had earlier, who have made no posts but want access to File Exchange. I checked there posting history and they had made 4 threads, all asking for media. I did not give him access.

We don't want people just joining to get the Media and File Exchange. Show you have been an active member and you will get access.

I realize what you said about the grey rep but how are we supposed to know if it's meant to be a good or bad rep ? Because I just got a grey one for the first time and it was from a controversial thread and I kinda want to know if the person meant to give me good or bad. Yes again repeat I do know what the grey stands for but I just want to know how we're supposed to tell the difference if it's meant to be a bad or good.

Green is good rep, and red is bad. Following red would be a nasty message on some occasions.

LOL! You totally misread my post. I know what Green,Red and Grey reps stand for. What I'm asking is when I get a grey rep, yes it was given to me by a person who has no rep power but how are we supposed to tell whether or not the grey is meant to be a good or bad rep ?

I remember maybe a month or two back that there was an advertisement saying that there is no advertising allowed whatsoever and doing so will result in a ban or something.

I just checked the rules and it said that advertising is allowed albeit must be just a link which hasn't been blocked by the forum.

If someone could clarify that rule, it'd be much appreciated
