Ruth v Jordan...is Jordan still as revered as Ruth is now decades from now? A century from now? Ruth has endured.

Oh btw, Willie Mays > Babe Ruth as a player.
As an overall player, there is no question. Mays is an all time great outfielder, unreal speed, though Mantle was faster before the drain pipe incident in 51 and 660 home runs and the first Black player to that great in the majors. Jackie was great, but as a player, not in that league.

Talking about hitting pitchers I firmly believe in his prime if Carlos Zambrano played everyday (well like DH'd) he would have had a solid hitting line. He had 23 homers in 709 career plate appearances. Guy could flat hit.

Greinke can as well.

Pele probably still finishes 4th behind these 3.

They didn't have as high of level of competition as Ali. I do wish they could have fought when Louis was younger. They have their claim though. Louis's 12 year reign and Marciano's 69-0

My Dad has a rifle autographed by Ted Williams. It's pretty badass.

Without cheating I don't believe so. George Brett hit .390 in 1980. I think he was the closest. Tony Gwynn flirted with it a few times. It wouldn't shock me if Miguel Cabrera (triple crown winner) made a run at it sometime in his prime.

My two favorite swings of all time.....Will Clark and Ken Griffey JR. Just fucking flawless swings. Mark Grace's was great too.

Ken Griffey Jr

Nah no one has hit .400. I think Brett is still the closest.

Exactly. It's those dream matches we will never see. The very thought of Ali v Louis or Marciano is just amazing. Like Hogan/Austin or Bret/Angle haha

When I think of athletes that could have been GOAT contender if not for injuries, Griffey and Bo Jackson in football top that list. Also, think about Koufax if he had played longer.
