Comparing Wrestlers to Footballers
I'm sure this has been done somewhere down the line before. But, in terms of roughly basing it on how their careers panned out mixed in with their ability...here goes...
Steve Austin ~ Diego Maradona. Was arguably the GOAT at his peak. Carried Argentina and Napoli to great successes, in the mid-late 80s. Sound familiar to Austin with mid-late 90s?
Randy Orton ~ Cristiano Ronaldo. Consistently at the top and among the best, but never quite the number one. Accomplished a hell of a lot.
The Rock ~ Ronaldinho. At his peak his star shone brighter then most could ever dream, but quickly dissappeared (The Rock's case went Hollywood).
Ric Flair ~ Paolo Maldini. Consistently class, for an age.
The Undertaker ~ Paul Scholes. Much like the above, but a slight step down in ability and (arguably) accomplishments.
Triple H ~ Ryan Giggs. Underrated at their peaks from today's society, both consistenly highly successful and good in ring/on pitch talents. Never quite made it to the absolute top.
MVP ~ Adriano. Had all the tools to make it to the top, but circumstances unfortunately thought otherwise. Both had success for a brief period in their prime, though.
Any more? Would love to hear them as these are a few that popped into my head
