Not at all biased there are we?

Celtic Park has a great atmosphere but it still doesn't really compare to team like Dortmund, Galatasaray, Most Brazilian/Argentinian teams.

It may sound like I'm being biased, but I honestly believe it to be true.

I got to go to Camp Nou a few years ago to see Barca play Celta Vigo (back when Ronaldinho was playing for them) and the atmosphere was really disappointing. For ordinary league matches in Spain, apparently you don't get that many away supporters (according to Barca supporter I chatted to on the metro to the match). For local derbies and the El Clasico it happens, but other than that, you only get a few small pockets of away fans scattered around.

We were behind the goal and there were five Celta fans sat together a few rows in front, but apart from them I didn't notice any others. I was expecting to have my head blown because the stadium is amazing once you get inside, but it never really got going. It was like watching a friendly where nobody really gives a shit.

Only spanish supports I've seen ever been rated above average have been Atletico Madrid & Sevilla. Think Gijon took 2500 to a big away game a couple of seasons back which made the headlines since as you said barely anyone in Spain travels in numbers. Think Madrid only take 500 to the Nou Camp and vice versa.

As for quietest support I've ever heard, Burton Albion. Went with a Plymouth mate last season in what was being tipped as their last game due to dire finances. Burton literally didn't make a sound all game and even their goal celebrations were awfully tame and quiet. Strange.

Problem with going to see a big team like Barca is the atmosphere dies if the match isn't competitive. Atmosphere at OT is completely different when there's a competitive match going on as opposed to a walkover when it all gets tea and biscuits esque.

I was supposed to get tickets to go Wolfsburg on the day they won the league but whoever my Dad got the tickets from fucked us over and nobody would let us in. That sucked. Went a Wolfsburg match before it but the atmosphere wasn't anything special. Atmosphere at the Brit is really great when they get going.

Spanish fans don't travel to away games. It's just the culture over there.

Yeah, it was a pretty one-sided affair. It finished 3-1 but Celta were never in with a shout. Ronaldinho scored a penalty in front of us which was nice, plus there was a 10/12 man punch-up in front of the bench which resulted in a red card (for who I still don't know, benches were in the middle).

I also remember a female Barca supporter sat a few rows in front of us who was screaming abuse at someone or something after the game. She seemed to be aiming it down toward the goal, but fuck knows who it was for. She was rabid about something though.

They have a giant net behind the goal area which we and many others had enormous fun throwing paper airplanes into. Every one that stuck in the net got a big cheer. My only attempt failed, so if you ever get to go and have seats behind the goal, bring paper or card or something.
