Always look forward to this tournament every year. What's everyone's thoughts on it? Predictions?

Gold: Canada
Silver: Russia
Bronze: Finland

Looking forward too it. Now airing on a normal time, fuck that North American timezone.
After the EPIC tournament Sweden had last year, too many injuries will keep them out of the gold this year. With a healthy team they would easily have been front runner for the Gold. Thats how good the swedish youths are right now.
But they should atleast make the semifinals this year.


Hope for another Russia Vs. Sweden final though. Worked great last year!

Canada has looked shaky in the pre-tourney games that have been on TV, but the boys always have a chance to bring it home.

The Junior World Championship has a habit of delivering crazy games. Like Russia-Canada ( 6-5 ) from last year.

Sweden got a pretty easy group to advance directly to the semifinals. Now when Russia,Canada and US are all in the same group. We only got Finland as our major threat. So im disappointed if we dont make the semifinals.

I'm shocked that barely anyone on here watches this tournament. The NHL thread had lots of active members in it.

Anyway, i'm staying up till Canada's game later tonight or tomorrow i guess. Canada should beat Germany with ease.

So Finland is this years "USA", going to the relegation round despite being a medal contender.

So the upcoming Quarterfinals and Semifinals will be:

Q1: Russia VS. Switzerland
Q2: USA Vs. Czech Republic

Semifinal 1: Q1 Winner Vs. Sweden
Semifinal 2: Q2 Winner Vs. Canada

Hope to see a Sweden Vs. Canada final!

I would rather see a Russia/Canada final. That final being played in Russia would be awesome.

The Canadians are getting better and better each game, which is all you can ask for in a short tournament such as this.

Sweden/USA in the finals! We havent beaten USA in junior matches in 17 years. Just put up a good fight boys!
