Drogba gifts Chelsea teammates with £800,000 rings
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...mmates-1477751
Quote:
Chelsea legend Didier Drogba hosted a Champions League reunion party and surprised his former teammates by presenting them with special commemorative rings.
Resembling the sort of bling usually worn by NFL Super Bowl winners, the Ivory Coast striker is reported to have paid around £800,000 for the jewelry to celebrate the club's win against Bayern Munich.
Drogba organised the dinner at the Wyndham Hotel in Chelsea Harbour to raise spirits after Chelsea became the first reigning champions to be knocked out in the group stages of the competition.
One former teammate notable by his absence was Fernando Torres, although his son's second birthday was a decent excuse for not showing up.
Drogba has returned to Stamford Bridge to train for the Africa Cup of Nations during the Chinese off season.
He will forver be remembered at the club for scoring the late equaliser that ultimately saw Chelsea realise their obsession of winning the Champions League. And, with their gaudy new rings, his teammates are unlikely to forget him either.

That's why Drogba is a fucking BOSS!

Everyone here knows how much I hate Chelsea, but that is awesome and those rings look amazing. The date of births and the penalty shootout scoreline look slightly odd, but the rest of it is an amazing job.

Awesome. Also saw this funny "article" which basically gives a good description on the difference between The GOAT and Torres:
Quote:
Torres does a Drogba - the commemorative 2012-13 Champions League rings he will give Chelsea team-mates

Fernando Torres will present his Chelsea team-mates with these Haribo Jelly Friendship Rings*, to mark their 2012-13 group stage exit. In what has become a Chelsea tradition, following Didier Drogba's presentation of £800k bling rings to commemorate the club's first Champions League success in May 2012, Torres nipped down the sweet shop and spent £5.95 on a tub of rings, which he and Rafa Benitez will present to the squad after the Sunderland match.

Still think that Didier should have ended his career in Chelsea, it's just doesn't feel right without him, and from what I read from Mata, it's not just the fans who are feeling it.
Rings look great. Especially the special design for each player.

Drogba was probably really good mates with him, they both joined Chelsea at the same time and would have spent a lot of time around each over the past eight years, so he could have just been acting as a good friend. He also might have felt sorry for him because he wasn't involved much. Fuck knows otherwise.

Paulo is a good guy. Don't think anyone has a bad word to say about him. Always seems to be a positive influence in the dressing room.

Nice gesture from Drog, and I don't use the word often but the rings do look boss.

Cool rings, although the faces are a bit much.
