Cricket was what I was always best at. I played for Kent at u16 and u18 level before I broke my leg pretty severely, hence why I stopped. I could bat left or right handed. I could bowl pretty decent fast-medium left or right handed and could bowl off spin and leg spin left or right handed. All legitimately well. My coaches said they'd never seen anything quite like it. I can tell you it mind fucked everyone when I'd switch from batting or bowling from right hand to left hand. It all depended on the situation and what was required. I normally would bat 5th/6th and either open the bowling or come on first change.

Was always pretty handy at football. Use to play left wing, left back, right back or right wing.

I was a good wrestler. I'm good at playing defense in basketball, but can't shoot worth shit. But, the sport I loved most of all was racing. I just loving driving period, but racing takes money to get started.

In reverse order of effectiveness:

5. Tennis: Don't really consider myself "good" at all, but I enjoy playing anyway. Can hit the hell out of the ball, anyway, haha. It wears you the hell out and it's a lot of fun but a few years back I just sort of dropped it for a variety of reasons.

4. Football (Soccer): Used to play as a kid and I was actually pretty good. But I was always the biggest boy on the team and didn't usually run as fast as some of the smaller, speedier fellas, so I was always immediately slotted into the "Back Defender" role as it's known over here. But I was actually quite good in this regard and it was a rarity when anyone got past me. When I was otherwise beaten by some fast kid on the opposing team, I'd do a lot of crazy stuff like simply slide down and lock the ball up with my legs and take the punishment of him repeatedly kicking the ball into my, um, balls. I was also good at sending the ball down field for midfielders and forwards.

3. Basketball: Played in elementary school and high school. Once again, as the biggest guy, with that body type, I was immediately cast as the power forward. Always was amused by basketball, as the bigger you are, the more you find yourself running from one end of the court to the other. In elementary school, I wasn't good offensively but brought it on defense. I remember only one kid getting past me in one game on a weird, cold Saturday morning and I immediately felt like I let the team down so badly, kept pointing at myself for half a minute. In high school, my offensive skills expanded and I became better overall, too. I still play a little, informally, mostly as a way to exercise.

2. American Football: I'm a quality quarterback, good head on my shoulders in general and I have a strong arm, which comes in handy. If I hadn't suffered an appendectomy at just about the worst possible time, I wonder what might have happened in my teen years with this ability. Oh well.

1. Baseball: Third baseman, Catcher and on occasion Left Field. This is the sport I play the most today, it's the sport I love the most and I'm good at 3B and C. Don't try to steal on me!

I was a stud at baseball when I used to play as a kid, I remember being elected our team's all star and every game I had at least a double or triple, if not multiple. I played flag football and had many touchdowns I'm not sure why I stopped. Basketball I was above average, in the top 5 players on my school's team easily. That was all in elementary school though.

Now, being in High School, I golf in my spare time (not on a team or with a league), Just kind of do it at times for fun with my dad or whatnot. I also played hockey, which I still do now. I'm one of the best defensemen on my team in my coach's view, I play more than nearly everyone and I block more shots than riot shields. I played on a Midget Level Travel team but I stopped playing after I had a disagreement with my coach. I still play on a Junior Varsity team (Signed up late and missed Varsity tryouts, I'm getting called up most likely).

By no means did I mean to sound cocky, sorry if I came off that way. I think I would say I was better at baseball, but I can't play at all now. Hitting is just gone, since I stopped playing through middle school I never caught back up when I play Parks & Rec. Pretty decent at hockey though, really like it.

I'm not at all into team sports, which crushed my dad's dreams of me playing ice hockey. Probably would have helped if I was able to learn to skate halfway decent too. Oh well.

Hmmm....there's distance running. I've been at it since I was in grade school, when I was discovered to have great endurance during the annual school fitness test days. There was only me and one boy left from our age group by the end, and we were lapping the older kids. I've run at the university national level, but never made it any further than that, mainly because of injury problems at all the worst times. Right now well, when I start training again (hip problems) I'm trying to transition to longer distances, thinking perhaps trying one of the regional marathons next year, just to see if I can change my pacing to suit that sort of multi-hour effort.

Nordic skiing. Love it. Being alone, or with one other person, in the woods after a snowfall, just gliding along, is the most wonderful, peaceful thing. I still have to pass everyone though. I'm entirely incapable of switching off the competitive instinct. heh Despite growing up close to a smallish ski hill, I never did learn alpine skiing. Used to snowboard but didn't make it out even once last winter. I'll have to find time this year.

Mountain biking. I've done a few races, never won, but I'm not too shabby. My cross-country coach encouraged us all to practice road cycling with a goal toward triathlon (he was an ironman competitor, so he was always pushing tri). I hated it, but once I switched to biking on trails I fell in love with riding.

Does cheerleading count? I did that starting in high school, at first, mostly just so I could go to the football games for free. Grew to quite enjoy it though. Like most females in my mother's family, I'm hyper-flexible. I'm also entirely fearless about being tossed in the air or climbing a tower of people, so whenever there was a need for someone who jump up and land in the splits or be tossed into the air, I was the go to girl. That superflexibility deal is rather beneficial in taekwondo too. You'd think it would have helped me be a star in gymnastics but all I wanted to do was trampoline tricks. So much for mom's dream of a acrobatic gym princess.

I played strong safety in high school and was an integral cog in certain packages. I didn't start, but was a part of 4 state championship teams all 4 years of high school.

After I joined the Army, a buddy of mine played on a local rugby park league. I played fullback for a season and have been hooked on the sport since.

how fast did you bowl at?

There's a bloke who was at my club who now plays for shires who likes to talk himself up huge. He's got a bit of pace, but he's an utter twat and he doesn't move the ball at all. When i first heard him talk himself up i assumed he had some real pace about him but it was all straight up and down, maybe 115-120 km/h at the absolute max.

I play many sports most of which I suck at. I have a scar on my index finger thanks to cricket, I've lost at snooker with a 40 head start many times, when I was younger when I played rugby in the school playground I would get past the tryline(?) and throw the ball down like in American football etc...

The only two I'm good at are Athletics because I'm in good overall shape and football. Outfield in football I played L/RB because I was good at tackling, marking and crossing. Passing and shooting was woeful. I mainly played Goalkeeper because I was a good shotstopper and had good relexes. I built up a good reputation at school and eventually in a local sports team but I quit after a season. To me it was about having a fun game of football and to improve as a player but to the coaches its all about winning which includes shouting at every opportunity, long ball and no sportsmanship. Would prefer it if it was a team playing friendlies all season as appose to a league but I doubt that would be very popular.

90% of women moan about sports yet there's a female on here who seems to spend around 90% of her time playing it. I don't care what you look like, any woman with a hobby and an athletic one at that is a hell of a catch.

@Snowman - I'm intrigued re: athletics. What distances do you do / have done?
