"G.O.A.T" from 90s?
Am I the only one who has always found it abit cool that many of the greatest sports icons all were part of 90s?
NBA with Jordan, NHL with Gretzky/Lemieux, MLB with Bonds,Clemens(before we knew bout their steroids), NFL with Jerry Rice,John Elway, and even WWF with Austin,Rock.
Sure, all those guys do have the numbers to back up those claim, but do people start to think that at times, some of those guys might just be biased opinions? Meaning that no matter how good someone in the future might be, there might always be that biased opinion that the guy from the 90s, was better?
It could just be a case of the whole "I grew up in that era, so I think it's better than this current one".
Same could apply with TV shows. I'm sure many people would always want to say that a show like Friends,Seinfeld and so on, were much better than anything we see on tv today.

Jerry Rice is objectively the best WR to ever play. It'll be hard for anyone to ever compare to him. As for baseball, the 90s were probably the worst decade for the sport.

Looking back on it, it's easy to say that, but at the time though, before anyone knew about any of the steroid stuff, weren't the types of things people saw in the 90s, seem like the best things ever?
Remember when Ken Griffey was billed as being the future greatest baseball player ever(and might have actually been,if he didn't get injured)

They didn't play a World Series in like 94. It was awful. It was the beginning of the sharp decline of the sport.
Griffey Jr was amazing though. No question.

For me it's Jordan. I am from the NYC area and was raised in the NYC area and as a Knicks fan since the age of 4, Jordan broke my damn heart so many freaking times. I can't list any other sports players from the 90's as being better.
The guy refused to lose, he could be horrible the entire game would drop 25 on you in the 4th quarter if that's what it took to win.

Gretzky's best days were in the 80's, but I do agree with what you're saying.

Re: "G.O.A.T" from 90s?
Yeah Jerry was 80's and 90's, but without doubt the GOAT. Noone dominated their position in the NFL like Jerry did. The decade of Barry Sanders too. The most entertaining player of all time IMO. Part of the "Holy Trinity" of great RB's with Payton and Brown.
Jordan is a no brainer. Baseball for the 90's....hmm, Griffey before he got hurt yeah. I'd mention Frank Thomas too. Two time MVP, should of won a 3rd but placed 2nd behind a juicing Jason Giambi.

People go overboard with Jordan. Anyone that suggests that Jordan is on a level of his own is delusional and clueless. He is the GOAT imo, but it is possible to argue others that were possibly better and what not.
