Top notch post Segunda, I love lower league games, they are raw. I often go and watch Peterborough if City have a sunday or monday game. Regarding atmosphear, I'm afraid thats the way of the English game nowadays and will continue to be until the FA grow a pair and decide to introduce safe standing sections to Premier League grounds. Eastland's can be flat as fuck at times apart from the usual suspects in the South Stand / South-East corner but thats only about 4 blocks. I much prefer the aways where you get the more "hardcore" element travelling who love nothing more than to get on it with their mates, have a sing song and a laugh and enjoy the banter.

Yup, its not all full of glamour but a lot of the lower leagues truly bring out the very best in English football and support, some right characters you can get and its always great when banter can dominate games with neither team caught up in all the Premier League/Champions League drama. Some examples of FC:

(That is the epitome of English football IMO)
(500-600 for a pre season friendly in Germany from a League 7 club.)
(The famous Rochdale cup game I mentioned)

Legit one of the best games I've ever been to, honestly didn't even mind missing the last train back to Manchester and having to search for a late night bus to Manchester City Centre and then legging it to Piccadilly to make the 25 past 1 train back to Chester by the skin of my teeth. Yup I was on the pitch as well by the end, quite the memorable evening. Pretty sure I fell down 3 rows when FC scored a 93rd minute winner.

Yup aways are by far the better games for fans looking for atmosphere. Pretty sure every club in the Premier League bar maybe Swansea have a better away following than home support, and in the cases of United and Villa the difference in support is staggering.

Ah don't even get me onto safe standing, I've all but lost hope anything will ever come from that unless plans to introduce models in Scotland take effect and get people talking. Its a common sense solution that needs to happen but unfortunately the people who run the game have little in common with your average working class supporter, and only see things in an economical sense.

Lower league games are awesome. I've been to a lot of North End games (mostly away) in the last 5 years or so with most of my mates being Preston fans. The away jaunts are just fantastic, getting to meet other fans. There's something about going to Swansea on a piss wet through Tuesday night losing 4-1 yet enjoying it immensely.

I can understand people not being able to afford to go & watch football all the time but I can't understand why people would support a team they can't go & see somewhat regularly unless you don't have a major league in your country. Going & 'supporting' your team is what it's all about. Those fans who have no intention of going and use excuses aren't supporters. There are plenty of people I know who don't earn much that go and watch North End or Rovers a hell of a lot and if they struggle to afford it they work extra shifts when they have to. Sometimes the 'can't afford to' is used an excuse. If you've not got a mortgage or rent, there's really no reason why it can't be afforded. Even scum on the dole who have no intention of working go to matches. Going to games is what it's all about, not every week. There's nothing better than going to support your team. Unfortunately a lot of fans don't understand that.

Nail on the head mate.

Stevieboy, mega respect for backing your national league.

As for this thread, I fucking love Manchester City, they are part of my life and always will be. Both of my legs are inked with tattoos. On one calf is my son's name and on the other it says MCFC. Two things I could never live without so long as I am breathing.

As for liking other teams - Peterborough, as I live there and Napoli in Italy as my mother is born and bred Napoletano and my grandfather on that side was very passionate about his calcio... hence the reason why I opt for the Azzurri over England.

Hate? I only hate one and that is the evil empire from across Manchester. I have a pure dislike for everything about that club from their whiskey nosed, bacon faced manager to their cretin fans onto their shithouse mouthpiece players, especially the likes of shrek and camelgob (aka Wooney and Wio). I hated that cunt Cantona, I hated that dog botherer Keane, I still hate that arrogant little prick Ronaldo. I hate Bobby the ticket tout Charlton and I hate those rat faced arseholes that go by the name of Neville. I have mates that are genuine reds and on derby day or even derby week I have had legit physical confrontations with a couple of them. That's the thing will rivalry though, you can be mates with someone but when it comes to football there is a line that you draw. Those who know will need no further to explaination.

Other clubs who I dislike - Juventus (the United of Italy in terms of arrogance), Leeds (Their fans are complete and utter wankers stuck in the 70's) and Spurs (gobby flash cockney twats that think they are bigger and better than what they actually are).

Are you born in Peterborough?

Ha, I changed the wording halfway through. I originally meant to say are you from Peterborough.. So I'm assuming you was born in Manchester then?

Before you attempt to try and catch me out, yes I was. But even if I wasn't my place of birth is completely irrelevant. Not once have I said you had to be born and bred in a certain place to truely love your team, there are other factors that are way more important.
