Hey guys, no worries, i was running out of time as well lately, usually only manage to post, if i do, last thing at night.

Hopefully we can get some more posters for the start of the next season though? As it doesn't work so well with only 3 of us.

Like both of you i'm really looking forward to this Sunday too. This should be a classic, so many great riders in with a chance.

With the parcours not really suiting us brits, i'm trying to think of somebody to support, i think i will go with Gilbert.

Although, obviously whoever rides the best race will get my support, i would like to go with an underdog instead, any ideas?

So Lucy Garner won the Junior Women's RR today, defending her title, only the second women to do so after Nicole Cooke. She had help among others from Elinor Barker who won the Junior ITT. Two great results for us, we may not set the Elite races on fire this year but we are looking very good on the youth front. I know it doesn't always convert but it's very positive signs for the future.

The Junior Men's race is tomorrow morning, there are some links here below, i don't know if they will work though come tomorrow, they might. More bad news for us this week on the selection front was that Lizzie Armistead, Silver medal winner in the Olympic RR, has pulled out of the Womens RR on Saturday due to sickness. We haven't called up a replacement and will ride with only 5 girls, still we have Emma Pooley as team leader and Nicole Cooke in a free-role. It's a blow but hopefully the girls can give their all anyway and we'll see what happens.

Here are the links: 10am UK time: WK Wielrennen means World Championship Cycling and Beloftenwedstrijd WK means Junior World Championship Race.

Does anybody know why we don't have any coverage of the Youth races this year? I can't find an answer anywhere?
I'm guessing it has something to do with TV rights and the UCI?

After seeing Contador's performance in the Time Trial, I'm not sure that any of the Vuelta main contenders will be up for the Road Race especially when J-Rod, Purto and Froome have all had hard seasons anyway.

Like you JB, I make Gilbert favourite but then there's a host of other contenders such as Gerrans, Nibali, Sagan, Boonen etc. Should be an amazing spectacle.

Yeah, i've been thinking the same about the Vuelta guys. There's so many contenders it's hard to pick a favourite.

Love your sig btw, awesome quote

Great photo finish in the U23 RR just now. 4 guys within a wheel.

Top five under-23 road race: 1. Lutsenko (KAZ) 2. Cocquard (FRA) 3. Van Asbroeck (BEL) 4. Houle (CAN) 5. Pibernik (SLO)

I like not knowing what to expect and who may or may not be on form.

Since all I have is a delayed highlights broadcast I'm going to have to either make the effort to get up early and watch online or stay away from anywhere sports related until I have a chance to see the race later in the day.

I'll probably watch all the Cauberg laps because with that much quality there are bound to be some fascinating break away situations. My wish is that someone like Contador blows the race apart early so that it comes down to 20 or so riders for the last quarter of the race. If they just wait around for the final climb then it's basically a case of who can follow Gilbert?

Hell yeah, i'm watching everything. 6 1/2 hours it might be today apparently.

I would prefer things to stay together as much as possible from a Brit POV, but that and our chances here seem very unrealistic. So, i'm with you, i want as much attacking as possible, blow this bitch apart.

Vos is just awesome, a league of her own. Shame we didn't have such a great race yesterday, Pooley didn't have enough in the tank and needed to get in an earlier break, i couldn't see anybody beating Vos anyway.

Here we go then, the riders are away...

That was one day race of the year, easily. Glued to my screen for the last two hours, just so much stuff going down. I was really excited when Contador got in the breakaway and thought he might have a chance to solo to victory but I absolutely love Gilbert as a rider and so was pleased for his win. I don't think anyone in the history of the sport could have followed his attack near the end, he just rules on uphill sprints.

I don't really have a national investment when it comes to sport but nonetheless Locke looked really good for GB today. When you consider he's been a semi-pro for years he didn't look out of place at all. Stannard was an absolute beast as well, quality showing from him. I bet Froome can't wait for the off season, poor guy just looks exhausted and how amazing was Cavendish ducking that sign. Genius instincts!

Feel sorry for Valverde too, his fourth WC Medal without a win. Hopefully he can win this race before he retires.
