Re: Unpopular Sport opinions

Boxing - Manny Pacquiao is overrated. His pre De La Hoya career was great, but it was with "The Dream Match" he began to get hugely popular and pick up titles at all kinds of weights. Let's see...... De La Hoya was on his way out, Hatton was shot, Cotto was still reeling from plastergate, Clottey was a fucking joke, Margacheato was a challenge he overcame (can't really take that or Cotto fights away from him), Mosley was a joke and then Marquez clearly beat him but the judges (or rather, their wallets) thought otherwise. And then he felt the other end of the corruption argument against Bradley. But still, it's fucking Bradley. Dude could barely put away Devon Alexander and ducked Amir Khan for fear of losing and missing higher paydays. Smart? Yes. Mark of a warrior? No.

tl;dr fuck Pacquiao.

Re: Unpopular Sport opinions

- Carles Puyol is the best defender of the past decade and the greatest captain of all time in football. Barcelona have a better chance of developing another Xavi or Iniesta than they do of another Puyol, in fact I don't think we will ever see another Puyol. Puyol's defending skills coupled with drive, desire, work ethic and winning mentality is almost impossible to match. If there is anything I criticize about him, is that he works too hard, but of course it isn't a valid criticism.

Gentlemen, if you lose today you will continue to be the best in the world but if you win today you will be eternal.

Tim Tebow might actually be a serviceable quarterback if someone took the time to sit down with him and work with him. I don't mean lip service of saying they're going to do it, then throwing him under the bus because he's not the traditional QB.

The NHL is officially irrelevant after the lockout from '04-05 and the lockout now. I love hockey, but have not watched one minute of the NHL since the lockout cancelled an entire season.

NASCAR and all auto-racing are still never, nor will they ever be, real sports. Driving a car doesn't make you an athlete. My POV is becoming unpopular these days as more and more in the United States embrace NASCAR especially.

Instant replay has no place in sports for overturning calls and should be banned. The officials are paid to make the right calls and if they screw too many of them up, they need to find other jobs.
