ENw ferrari car released today. Always an exciting day when Ferrari release the car.

Very interested in how this one will run because while i no nothing about aerodynamics the open nose at the front along with the curved front to the nose just looks to me like a paragliders shoot so if the cars going 186mph wont it just take off rather than help the downforce :S

for those who havent seen it yet.

Happy for Merc and Nico, always rated him. Unfortunately Mercedes still have an issue with tyre wear so I don't expect them to cross the line first.

Sauber are easily 5th/6th best car on the grid at the moment and both of their drivers are entertaining to watch. Hoping they go well, would love to see Kamui get on the podium at the end of the race.

Prediction for podium is Lewis/Nico/Jenson.

What interesting qualifying great to see Rosberg on pole was great lap and with this results should be a very interesting race with Mercedes having tyre degradation problems and aswell will not able use DRS for whole lap

I think Mclearn still are the quickest car after the Mercedes (who won't be that quick in the race)and are the favorites but sauber or Lotus can spring surprise

Wa wa waaaaaa Lewis. McLaren trying to do that trick like a few years back failed like a treat. Like hell it was mistake whitmarsh! He tried to cheat plain and simple and the FIA nailed your balls for it.

The RB8 is really showing what a handful it is (Average one weekend, winner the next and then back to average again) they still haven't sorted out that rear exhaust compared with the other top teams. Being slower than Williams and Sauber seems to support that the RB8 isn't as good as people make out. Newey is still fucking around with that tunnel under the floor and he refuses to give it up even if it has taken up weeks of development and yet no improvement, the RB8 is going backwards and it's costing them.

Vettel getting a 2nd and a win and Mark with his constant 4th places, with possibly the 5th best car on the grid shows why RBR hire them as their drivers, not the likes of Massa helping to flatter Alonso in that Ferrari. Both Vettel and Mark are fighting their cars almost as much as Alonso is, it's just everybody expects them to always have the fastest car yet it clearly isn't even the 3rd fastest.

Vettel was conceding he wouldn't of got 5th with the car and their straight line is terrible, almost as slow as HRT.

At least he has got fresh prime tyres spare for a good race, maybe a podium if a lot of shit happens up front, but I would rather start 7th than 24th...

Looks like Alonso is close to getting the car he wanted, Ferrari have chucked everything at it, but I expect him and Maldonado to get sucked in by both Lotus' early on as their race pace in practice 2 was the outright best, followed by McLaren who look out of it already with a shit qualifying. Lets not bother talking about fuel loads or sandbagging in practice as it's far to tight for that shit now and they need all the accurate data they can get.

Lotus 1/2 with Alonso and Vettel fighting for 3rd/4th.

Lewis Hamilton loses Spanish pole because of rules on fuel

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton has been excluded from qualifying at the Spanish Grand Prix after stopping his car out on the track at the end of qualifying .

Hamilton qualified on pole but will start from the back of the grid.

He was told to stop because there was insufficient fuel in the car for him to get back to the pits and provide a sample, as required by the rules.

The stewards rejected McLaren's argument that not putting enough fuel in the car was "force majeure".
Article 6.6.2 of the technical regulations: "Competitors must ensure that a one litre sample of fuel may be taken from the car at any time during the event.

"Except in cases of force majeure (accepted as such by the stewards of the meeting), if a sample of fuel is required after a practice session the car concerned must have first been driven back to the pits under its own power."

So from memory Kobayashi ran out of fuel too, so is he second last on the grid?

Yes I believe it was done after Lewis stopped in qualifying after Canadian grand-pix in 2010

It was obvious he will loose his pole and team deserved to loose pole but starting from 24th is bit harsh I believe he could have started from 10th or 6th
ironically
no kobayashi starts 9th, he was excluded from q3 due to the same problem, he gets bumped up to 9th.

is the grid
I don't think he had same problem

I can understand demoting him to the back. Its to ensure that teams don't try to be sneaky in future when it comes to fueling the car.

Unlucky for Hamilton, but its good for the viewer. It adds an extra dynamic to the race, a extremely pacey car on the back, charging through the grid.

Crazy season. Very enjoyable, but I don't think it'll be very long before Mclaren and Red Bull wash away their bad luck and start to get their head in the game. Would like some clarification on Mercede's status. Schumacher is a bit frustrating and Rosberg is going backwards during races. Raikkonen and Grosjean are just immensely impressive, however. Hope to see some good fortune for them during the season.

Don't understand Maldonado's bad rep. Won GP2, and while he had a very lacksture season last year, hes overcome that disappointment, won a race with some immense discipline. Its too soon to say hes a great driver, and while we are on that, Bruno Senna is probably his equal. But, getting hounded by Alonso & Raikkonen, tyres needing nursed. He drove perfectly under pressure.

Hes proved his worth as a pay driver. That win will be worth its weight in gold for Williams.

And the weekend just gone proved why Maldonado has his mass of critics, he's fucking bipolar or something.

In other news, I really hope the Di Resta rumours are true and that he's off to Ferrari or Mercedes. Give him a car capable of winning races, he'll win races, simple as that.

6 winners in 6 races, it's brilliant to watch this season as opposed to last years procession races. Would be nice to see if the winning list could grow to 10 from 10 or something crazy like that (Kimi, Lewis, Schuey, and idk...Ricciardo :side: )

#147 ·
That would be crazy if it actually happens. As it is, I'm expecting the first repeat winner in Canada, like Vettel or Button. Maybe Alonso if we get some rain or the changes made to the Ferrari are good for the combination of short straights and chicanes around Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

#149 ·
Oh, no doubt, they've all got a really good chance of winning, especially with all of the parity in F1 this year. It's like we're returning to the late 80's/early-mid 90's in terms of who can win and when.

Button is probably frustrated because he relies on consistency, whether its race results or car performance. As for Schumy, would be great to see him win a race this year, but if it gets in the way of Rosberg getting a few more points, then I'd be against it. Do feel very sorry for him, though. He hasn't driven badly at all. I think he'll get his luck eventually.

Maldonado last weekend :lol

Was really hoping a Lotus was going to win that race and keep the different winners going. And because I'm a fan.

Anyway, I saw Ecclestone's plans/dreams for a London GP earlier.

I'm sure the Queen would be thrilled about it. Probably even less chance than a New York circuit tbh. But I hope a video game company takes inspiration and sticks it in one of their games :D:

Well earned pole for the best driver on the grid. First since Singapore 2010. Dodgy ending to Qualifying 2 however, so he might be hit with a penalty. Hopefully not, hes earned pole.

As for the rest, great to see Schumacher starting to come back to life. Errored with terrible mistakes from both him & the car/team. Also got to think that Maldonado's car is much better than Senna's. Don't see Button sorting out his problems this season. Completely tyre related, and Pirelli won't be changing them.

Wet races are usually great fun, hopefully continues tomorrow. Don't have my hopes up high however, considering how intense the rain has been.
