Re: F1 2012 thread

I stupidly thought that was Vettel out on like the first lap or whatever. I kinda knee slid into a celebration Boy did I look stupid by the end. Hopefully something comes of the overtaking during a yellow flag, fingers crossed but don't think Ferrari are gonna challenge it.
All in all a great season till the teams got on top of the tires and the RBR updates and Vettel kept leading races start to finished. Vettel fans probably enjoyed it though.

Yeah, it was sad. He probably thought of killing Grosjean for Belgium accident

Re: F1 2012 thread

Fun Fact: Kimi Räikkönen is the only driver to have finished every single race of the 2012 season, and of the 20 races, he finished in the top 10 on 19 occasions. That's a pretty amazing statistic right there.

Lewis Hamilton won 4 races, and retired from 5. Given his points average, had he finished those races, he may well have become champion.

We got the outcome nobody wanted.

Oh well, roll on next season when Newey wins another world title.

Re: F1 2012 thread

Really wanted Alonso to win the championship, so Vet again was a letdown for me. Hoped for a last race with Mclaren win for Lewis too, seeing as he's headed off to what's as of now still an underachieving Merc team. Still a pretty terrific race though – and not so bad a season overall - so I can't complain too much.

Re: F1 2012 thread

Loved the race. Button did great in changing conditions (is anyone surprised?) and picked up a deserved win. Alonso did all he could, and push beyond the limit at times, but unfortunately wasn't enough. It was good to see Massa get his first podium in ages at his home GP. His emotions told there. Hulkenberg did an immense job. 5th is still a great result yet he was in it for the win! 2 mistakes cost him though, but I do wonder what would have happened had there not been a safety car and it was just Hulkenberg and Button going for it. I reckon JB would have eventually had him (Button's always been a smart racer). Vettel, did great to fight back the way he did but I thought the boy was lucky. Not the yellow flags but the incident at the start with Senna and Perez. If Hulkenberg got a penalty for making a mistake passing Hamilton and unfortunately taking him out of the race, how come Vettel did not get a penalty for taking Senna and subsequently Perez out too?

Great, chaotic race. Brazil is a great season-ender because it generally throws a lot of curve-balls. Depressed now F1 is over until March and unfortunately we will likely lose one of or both of Kobayashi and Kovalainen, 2 drivers who deserve to be in F1.
