ENw ferrari car released today. Always an exciting day when Ferrari release the car.

Very interested in how this one will run because while i no nothing about aerodynamics the open nose at the front along with the curved front to the nose just looks to me like a paragliders shoot so if the cars going 186mph wont it just take off rather than help the downforce :S

for those who havent seen it yet.

I'm hoping Ferrari have a decent showing this year and Alonso can push Vettel for the championship. Button is an outside chance as well, provided the McLaren can perform well enough for him, and Hamilton doesn't crash him out of races. It's good to see Raikonnen back in the series, but I feel he'll do as good as Schumacher has been doing. Oh, and hopefully Webber can win a few races.

Well well, the first race of the 2012 season will soon begin and the F1 circus will travel the globe to select the best driver/car combo on the planet.

I wouldn't fap :gun: over the testing times as they really do mean fuck all as a bench mark since the fuel loads, engine mapping, tyres etc... all skew the result. You only have to look at Williams as proof and look how shit they were last season and everybody was saying how quick they looked during testing, same with Toro Rosso. For all we know Mercedes are faster than both RBR and McLaren.

Some say Lotus are looking quick, some are saying it's just a glory run to get more sponsers as they usually do, unlike the front runners who will sandbag until Quali 3 next Saturday. Kimi will have to get past the likes of Rosberg and Schumacher, with Mercedes bigger budget and resources improving the car.

Ferrari are really looking in the shit at the moment, I'm not sure if they are just pretending to be but why would they silence both drivers on the matter if they were not in the shit this year? Even Pat Fry is saying they're unlikely to get on the podium, why go self destuct mode with sponsers if it wasn't fact?

McLaren are looking strong, stronger then RBR car wise IMO, Seb was already rating their long distance pace and they haven't made any major changes to the car. The only problem McLaren will have if they're the best is that they wont be able to support two world champion drivers "100%" over the season or face another 2007 even RBR cut it close in 2010 trying to favour both.

Seb is the defending World champion and it's highly likely RBR will favour him as the reputation of having the "youngest triple world champion in history"... BEATING! Ayrton's Senna's record by about 6years?. He would also become 1 of 3 men in F1 history to go 3 WDC's in a row: Fangio+Schumacher---???Vettel???

McLaren look the best to take the WCC since they got 2 highly rated drivers while Mark could fail to keep up with Sebs pace over the year and I dont expect him to challenge Seb for the WDC.

I reckon 2012 will be a ugly fought WDC title win, Jenson and Lewis will start to bring the daggers out and will look after themselves very early on, refusing to give any space for an easy overtake if they're faster. Lewis I reckon will on purpose refuse to sign another contract with McLaren unless he gets what he wants.

Something on the lines of: "Number 1 status or I leave for Mercedes or Ferrari next year even if I win this year" and holds McLaren to ransom towards the end.

My WDC Prediction:
1st: Vettel
2nd: Lewis
3rd: Jenson
4th: Webber/Rosberg

WCC:
1st: McLaren
2nd: Red Bull
3rd: Mercedes

Good write up Crab paste. The season is looking like another RedBull championship however I'll keep an open mind on this as I think Button and Alonso will take some wins.

My breakdown:

Championship will be down to 3 drivers like always.

1. Vettel has to be favourite because he broke Webber's will to win.

2. Button has the mentality to challenge and Lewis has a few loose screws to tighten before he gets back on a complete season. Lewis is good but for a whole season I don't think he can hold it together.

3. Alonso just because of Ferrari. With all the money they spend and receive from the FIA how can you leave them out. Ferrari will only be competitive because they are good at getting the FIA to BAN technology that they can't mimic.

Outside shots that I'd like to see.

1. Kimi getting a win somewhere and putting lotus back on the map.
2. Rosberg getting a win just to put mercedes in contention

Season is too close to call. Will be sad I only get half of the races in full. I'll probably just watch foreign streams, though.

As for the winner, too tricky to say who will win. Testing doesn't mean anything. But, predictions are fun.

1. Vettel. Clear favourite.
2. Lewis Hamilton. I don't think Jenson's consistency will match up to Lewis getting the occasional podiums.
3. Mark Webber. Think he'll pick enough points to eclipse any other potential challenger.
4. Jenson Button. Can't see the others being fast enough.
5. Fernando Alonso. Think they'll have a solid finish to the season

this season is, like everyone else is saying, too close to call as there is too many teams that are showing relatively good pace in testing....may be wrong with this but i think ferrari may be sandbagging here to get people to underestimate them.
I feel that it will be a battle between vettel, hamilton(if he gets his act together), button, alonso and potentially raikonnen depending on the lotus. also think that the force india could be one of those teams to look out on getting consistant top 6/10 positions this season

Sky can rot in hell, and most (75%+) of F1 diehards would agree with me on that. They have already fucked up the intro and half of the Sky crew are a bunch of bloody idiots and are even worse than EJ. He was just pretending to be like that on the BBC.

Brundle: Very Good idea.
Croft: Good idea
Davidson: Good idea.
Kravitz: Good idea.
Rider: Brit arse kisser.
Hill: Brit arse kisser, boring and has a major chip on his shoulder with Schumacher.
Thompson: Stupid blond, typical Sky.
Pinkham: Another bimbo reading off a script.
Lazenby: WHO????? A rugby presenter.....

Sky will take it to a new level like they have with most sports. They make things bigger & better. Yeah they can't please everyone but a whole channel dedicated to F1 can only be a good thing. The sport will get more exposure because of it and it'll put more money into F1.

The only down side is that it's on not on free TV and not everyone can get it. With that said BBC still has plenty of races.

if sky affects our coverage with f1 i'll be furious. apparently we still get them all fta but there may be problems along the line. wouldnt mind it on speed here ad free but idc as long as we get them all. not streaming any of them, fuck that.

Do you reckon the races would be uploaded on here ? or would nobody bother.

a 1 hour highlight show on bbc on a sunday night isn't gunna cut it for me.

Tho i imagine the viewing figures will be huge.

The thing is nige SKY cant take it to a new level, the FIA have always had their own camera's over the circuits unlike other sports that Sky "improved" so this improvement people keep saying will happen will infact, be very very small if anything at all.

Yeah the F1 channel sounds great but sooner or later when it starts to get boring it will become the next Top gear while running out of decent material.

Plenty of races? Have you seen what the BBC got out of this deal, about 60% of them are the REAL shit races.

China: zzzzzzzzzzzz (Sorry apart from last season this circuit is crap 9 times out of 10)
Barcelona: Boring!
Valencia: Super zzzzzzzzzz (Now being predicted to be dropped this season) leaving BBC with 9...
Monaco: Thank god the first decent one!
British GP: YES!
Spa: Wicked
Singapore: Boring!
Korea: Boring!
Abu Dhabi: Always Shit.
Brazil: Another good circuit.

So 4/10 are actually decent, Spa, Brazil, Monaco and Silverstone. The rest arn't races, that's called torture against the basic human rights.

No Japan, No Monza, No Hungary, NO CANADA!, No Hockenheim and No First GP of the season....

All the BBC get is stinking Tilkdromes that deserve to be shot if they were living.:gun:

For once after the Schumi era, British intrest in F1 hit a 10 year high even with RBR winning 2 years straight with Seb, but still the BBC improved it far beyond what ITV ever did in the Lewis hype era. It's all because of the shitty 2012 Olympics, so they took the axe to the only profitable YES PROFITABLE!!!! sport going on the BBC, football was negative, tennis was negative, snooker negative, darts was negative, they mostly were apart from F1. They could of axed BBC four ffs, but no they wanted to piss off around 7-8 million, ((on average, peak numbers like China and Canada would be 10-11 million)) F1 fans instead because the board is run by a bunch on Wimbledon dickheads that would rather support some overhyped Scot in tennis, rather than supporting 2 British (((World Champions))) that the world are jealous of.

:bs: That's what I think of this "improvement" personally

I hope Ofcom arserape BskB and everybody linked with News International and shut the fuckers down for corruption on the highest degree and it looks like it will happen sooner than later.

I'm not a massive F1 fan and I have to say I've loved the BBC coverage over the last couple of years that have got me back into it again.

For me having watched the F1 show last night, it's great to see the extensive behind the scenes stuff that we've never really had before. Sky are going to give F1 fans more than they've ever had before, and the ways in watch you can watch the races look terrific. I think you're right about how they maintain the interest with their own channel. It could get stale, no doubt but for now I think it's exciting.

As for News International, I think the nation share your sentiments on the cunts.

Well News around the diehard F1 fans like myself these are the points they mention.

1:The starting show was out of synche for an hour.
2:Lazenby knows fuck all about F1 as we predicted, he just sits there and goes "that's interesting" with Brundle and Damon.
3:Thompson is thick as shit with regard to F1 just like Lazenby.
4:Kravitz is the new Sky weather girl with the stupid car graphic he uses now, waving his hand in mid air looking like a tit.
5:Sky/Pinkham trying to promote "Sky football" with Webber, when he became a Man U fan overnight, stinks of publicity.
6:Thompson dressing up as a dominatrix while interviewing Jenson was laughable and out of place.
7: Damon did well with Brundle I heard.
8:It's early days and the diehards want to see what Sky give on race weekend.

It's nothing personal, it's just F1 fans are a different breed to the Football fans. Slapping good looking women wont cut the mustard no matter the sex appeal as I would rather jack off to the current McLaren...

Don't get me wrong me and my old man are thinking of getting it after the Aussie GP, but they need to consider sacking half of these idiots they have at the moment. Lee McKenzie would be a perfect replacement for either Thompson or Pinkham, then I would get a journalist who knows what they are doing rather than an air head.

rotating barcelona/valencia year by year.

i done mind barcelona but valencia is possibly the worst gp on the calendar. fuck that, get rid of valencia, have spa every year, and have both german gp's. get rid of something else for both of them, bahrain or something.

plus the likelihood is they're going to have to replace the melbourne gp too as the victorian government cant afford it every year. that's what you get for stealing it from us victoria.

The Sky pundits are so boring.

Humphries, Coulthard & Jordan are better than all of them.

They've gone way overboard on the technical stuff aswell, 95 % of the audience don't care about that shit. They only care about the personality of the drivers etc.

The Media: Ferrari make the surprise unveiling of Alain Prost as their technical director for the 2012 season.

Andrea Stella: Oh, the nose!

Alonso: For thure, when you sit inside the car, your cannot see it.

Rob Smedley: Felipe! I told you not to sit on the nose when you were eating your donuts!

Felipe Massa: Uh, I think Hamilton crashed into this one already.

:banplz: :hamilton
