Bruins 5
Avalanche 4
Boston played a sloppy game, but they were still able to get 2 points on the road.

Yeah, that was a crazy game. Glad to see Bergeron back to normal with 2 assists, and Blake Wheeler scored his first career NHL goal!

Re: Official NHL 2008 Season Discussion Thread
Guys, Leafs/Wings game was awesome!
We were way up in nosebleeds, but everyone around us was mostly leaf fans. We had a solid Go Leafs Go chant going on for a good portion of the night, and there were a surprising amount of cheers/noise when the Leafs scored.
Great game, Toskala made some huge saves down the stretch. Kulemin's goal was beautiful. Assist to the wings on that one too hahah

Re: Official NHL 2008 Season Discussion Thread
I figured the Canucks would would with it being the home opener and all but christ, 6 to zip. Didn't catch the game but did watch the highlights this morning, pretty lackluster effort from Calscary.

Re: Official NHL 2008 Season Discussion Thread
The Canucks had a nice tribute for Bourdon before the game. I thought the season ticket holders giving his family his last worn game shirt wasa nice touch.

The Ottawa Senators announced Friday that Daniel Alfredsson will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and the team doesn't expect him to miss more than a couple of weeks.
The arthroscopic surgery is designed to remove a bone chip in his right knee that was dislodged during the Senators second game of the season against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday. It is not related to a similar injury he suffered in Toronto late last season.
Dany Heatley will be captain in Alfredsson's absence, while Jarkko Ruutu will take his spot on the top line.
"We need to be a team," general manager Bryan Murray told reporters on Friday. "We're certainly going to miss Aflie, but it's a great opportunity to prove we are different this year."
Alfredsson, 35, missed 12 games last season with hip and groin and knee injuries. In two games this season, the 13-year NHL veteran has two assists.
