I missed the first period and immediately noticed two things.

1) I'm diggin the Leafs' third jersey and will be picking one up to go with my collection

2) The scoreboard on the tv must be broken because it says the Leafs are in the lead

edit #2 - Those new hockey anthems for hockey night in canada sure ass hell don't stack up to the old one. Man the people at CBC are idiots.

Big win for the Leafs to start of the season against the reigning Stanley Cup champs. I was only able to catch about the last 8 minutes of the game but from seems of it Toskala played really well. That last 30 seconds was pretty frantic penalty killing but they got it done

Just a few observations, despite the shots on net the Leafs defense seems to be a hell of a lot more organized this year, as does the PK. The Red Wings defense looked sloppy as hell. I'm sure that'll be corrected soon enough though.

We're not doing to well in the race for Tavares so far.

Islanders look worse going into this season than the Leafs, and that's quite a feat in it's own. We have a win over the wings now though so it's even worse now

I'm so excited for the Flames/Canucks game in about five minutes, Bertuzzi playing for us against the rivals Canucks.

It's going to be a fun night, I'm glad it's on late.
