Official NBA Offseason thread
Sorry...not sure if I can start an official thread...but I think its about time to talk about possible trades and signings now. And there are already rumors that involves big names... and here are some of them:
Nuggets - are trying to move Melo to Detroit and get Billups and Prince. Also rumors that they are sending Kleiza to Memphis for Lowry and draft picks
Heat - rumors are flying about sending Wade to Chicago to get the #1 pick, Tyrus Thomas and Larry Hughes. So Heat could end up with the top 2 celebrated draft picks (which would be interesting how both of them would compete for ROY). Also sending Marion to the Clippers for Elton Brand.
Pacers - reports say that they are desperate of a PG and would trade Jermaine O'Neal for TJ Ford and Rasho Nesterovic and draft pick. I dont what Indiana is thinking but it would be interesting how Bosh and O'Neal could co-exist.
Cavs - are rumored to be looking for outside help in getting Michael Redd...not sure how it will happen given that they have nobody that has real trade value except for James.
Suns - are heard to be shopping Diaw and entertaining a TJ Ford trade. If this happens, does this mean they are looking to get rid of Nash as well? Also Barbosa is rumored to go to NY for a trade.
Its going to be interesting as the trade could start by Thursday on draft day. I remembered feeling shocked after hearing that Ray Allen trade.
Let the rumors and speculations begin...

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
I don't see that Detroit/Denver trade happening at all. Detroit doesn't gain anything from that trade.
The Suns would be crazy to get rid of Nash.
I remember hearing a while back that D.Wade wanted to play in Chicago so I wouldn't be surprised if he pushed for it. I'm sure Wade wants no part in a rebuilding team. Something that could take years to accomplish.

Yeah I watched that...but there's something about his agent speaking instead of Melo or the Nuggets management...they said this summer...so theres possiblity he could be traded before the deadline.

Well Detroit will like to see Stuckey at the PG and another solid scorer in Melo. Those 2 can more than make up for the offense of Prince and Billups...though they will lose on defense.
The Suns are crazy period. I just dont see them being a contender again. I will not be surprised if they pull a deal like that because Kerr is dumb.

Did you guys see Shaq and his classless rap on Kobe? He doesn't even deserve to be a police officer due to the fact he's out there bad mouthing a guy who he won 3 NBA titles with.

Shaquille O’Neal will lose his special deputy’s badge in Maricopa County because of language he used in a rap video that mocks former teammate Kobe Bryant.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said the Phoenix Suns center’s use of a racially derogatory word and other foul language left him no choice. Arpaio made Shaq a special deputy in January and promoted him to colonel of his largely ceremonial posse earlier this month.
“I want his two badges back,” Arpaio told The Associated Press on Tuesday. “Because if any one of my deputies did something like this, they’re fired. I don’t condone this type of racial conduct.”

^^^Totally agree with you and I applaud this Sheriff...no special treatment.

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
Oh yeah, my team is already active, buying the New Orleans Hornets pick. Looks like they might try and use that to move up in the draft or get an established player in the league. Anyway, the news is nothing big, but I am excited

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
Joe Dumars isnt stupid. No way he'd trade for Melo. Especially if Prince was going the other way.
I'm really hoping the my Raps work this deal out with the Pacers. If he can stay healthy, O'Neal and Bosh would be sick down low. That is a BIG if though. He's just the type of player the Raps need, someone who isn't afraid to bang down low for rebounds. Plus, it would allow the Raps to move Bargnani back to forward/off the bench, where he seemed to have strived his first year in the league.
