The Knicks and Chris Duhon have reportedly agreed to a two-year deal worth about $12 million.
|
Im excited a little bit with this acquisition just because I think Marbury with the help of David lee would be traded for someone big, maybe at the forward position...

Gilbert Arenas agreed to a six-year, $111 million contract with the Wizards on Thursday.

I am still a little surprised he's getting this huge offers considering how severe his injury is and how well the Wizards have played without him

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
I been thinking about the Lakers, and I got to say this. I keep hearing the Lakers would like to trade Lamar for Ron Artest. Well, I got to say this, if that happens or not it will be good and bad in both ways. If Lakers keep Lamar, they have a guy that's 6'10 that has ball handling skills, can run the floor very well, rebound, score and knows Phil Jackson's system. But if the trade does happen, Lakers get a 6'7 forward, that can shoot the 3, attacks the rim, and of course the thing that makes him so great, he's defense. But one thing that bothers me, is his attitude. He's a gamble.
So my question for you all is, if you were in charge, would you make this trade or not?
I wouldn't. The reasons why, is because Lamar is getting better more and more. We also haven't seen Fish/Kobe/Lamar/Pau/Bynum all playing at the same time. You also have to know, not plenty of guys can have ball handling skills, and run the floor like lamar can for a guy that's 6'10. He's one of those few people that can do that so well for his height.

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
I think Artest's recent comments about staying with the Kings being a mistake is a ploy for him to try and get traded to the Lakers. Like you said, getting Artest would mean getting two things the Lakers lacked this year in the playoffs: toughness and defense. But besides the headaches he would give Laker fans, I can't see the Maloofs making the Lakers stronger even if it meant getting rid of Artest.

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
^^^ I think this could have happened last season but the biggest hurdle they said was the rivalry between Kings and the Lakers, maybe more on the owners that they would not help each other out.

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
Artest is a frickin' cancer.
Either Odom, Walton, or Vlad will be out after next season. I just don't see Artest coming to LA... people compare the situation to Rodman and Phil... but no, Rodman actually gave it 110% for 48 minutes, Artest doesn't always show up. As much as Phil would like the challenge, he's a frickin' idiot if he takes on that piece of crap Artest. Our team would deteriorate.

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
The return of Bynum, Kobe being Kobe, Fisher's leadership skills, Lamar and Pau's talent the lakers will be a huge threat. Not to forget the bench mob, Sasha and Ronny need to resign their offers, Lakers are thinking about signing sun yue (drafted player from last year) and maybe resigning DJ Mbenga. Hopefully Joe Crawford plays for Lakers.

Yes, he is cancer to ever team that he plays for but you can't denied that when he is on his game, he is a very good player. He is one of the best defensive players in the league and can be a good scorer.

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
Corey Maggette is a hot commodity now and is almost a guarantee to go to a difeerent team. The last 2 defending champs are looking to sign him. I can see Maggette starting for the Spurs to replace the aging Finley while Ginobili will continue to come off the bench.
Im not too excited about the Celtics signing him, because that means the end of Posey. James Posey was a critical piece in that championship run especially during the Finals, he was knocking down big baskets and plays good defense. Maggette might be the better athlete but Posey has proven himself as valuable commodity off the bench and a better fit. Corey would have to adjust to that role if he comes in because I cant see the big 4 playing together to finish the game as Corey and Pierce are to small to play PF. Meanwhile, Posey is currently being eyed on by the Lakers.
