OMG...you sound like the annoying girlfriend... you base arguments on past posts? So what if I picked the Lakers? Get over it...move on! What does that have to do with OJ Mayo being an All-Star. I did my analysis...you do your own... so be it...but you dont have to be disrespectful.
|
I wasn't being disrespectful. You're the one who called me an idiot for not agreeing with you. I'm just responding. And even when I try to have a discussion with you, you always manage to put some sort of personal attack into your posts.

This is based under the current Grizzlies condition...we are not talking about 5 years down the road...nobody knows if these players are still playing in 5 years. Before you comment read the content and understand, dont pick spots and turn things around.
|
You flat out said Mayo would never be an all-star with the Grizzlies. Don't try and justify that.

And as far as the Blazers, they were the best team in the month of December after winning 13 straight and was 22-13 at one point first week of January...cant find sources that they led the West even for a week...but with that record I'll be surprised if they didnt even lead their division. I just cant see that happening with the Grizz "under the current condition"
|
They did lead their division for awhile. (I'm a huge Blazer fan) Still doesn't change the fact they never led the west. And Roy was selected as an all-star because voters were amazed by how well the Blazers were playing after losing Oden. Coming into the season, no one thought the Blazers would win more than 32 games, in fact, many analysts expected them to be one of the worst teams in the league. I bet you would have talked about them the same way you're talking about the Grizzlies right now. (Don't try to use this against me and say I'm putting words in your mouth, if you wouldn't have said that, just tell me.)

Stick to the topic and justify with facts... dont disrespect..I got no problem with that...
|
I can use the Blazers as evidence if I want. I don't see Memphis doing what the Blazers did last season, but that's no reason to think that they can't. They've got some real nice pieces, and they can definately be a surprise team this year. They don't have to make the playoffs, they just have to exceed expectations.

I heard the Warriors are offering Brand a multi year contract. This would make Baron really upset...He has nothing in the Clippers except for Brand and Kaman. Brand would defintely make GSW into definite contenders.
Celtics is eyeing on Corey Maggette...not sure why and how that would work. Corey would probably come off the bench to be a James Posey. But I like Posey's defense and winning attitude which best fits the Celts.

They seriously made an offer to Brand? Sheesh, if he accepts, that could be what, 11 potential playoff teams or something like that? I would kind of laugh if Brand signed with the Warriors because wasn't the whole point of the Baron signing because of Brand? Oh well, another year, another what looks to be tough competition again.
Edit: Well I don't have any links (however, I am sure it is on ESPN somewhere), but the Sonics will officialy be playing in Oklahoma City next year. What are peoples thoughts on this? Personally, I hate it. I have always been sort of a Sonic fan (although they are a distant second to the Blazers), however, I am not going to support an Oklahoma whatever there team name is. For them to be there for what, like 40 years and get there team stolen from there, pathetic. I feel bad for all Sonic fans. Stern and Bennet = Assholes IMHO.
Edit #2: Here is the story:
Quote:
SEATTLE -- In a stunning turn, the city of Seattle and the SuperSonics have reached a last-minute settlement before the judge was to rule in their KeyArena lease dispute.
The settlement was reached just hours before U.S. District Judge Marsha Pechman was to announce her verdict in the trial between the city and the team.
A source told The Seattle Times the two sides have been discussing a deal that would involve the Sonics leaving town for Oklahoma City in exchange for up to a $75 million payment to the city.
Sonics owner Clay Bennett may not have to pay the entire amount if the city gets another team, the source told the Times.
The city of Seattle has scheduled a news conference at 5 p.m. PT Wednesday, the same time as a news conference in Oklahoma City with Sonics' owner Clay Bennett. Terms of the settlement were expected to be announced then.
The settlement was announced by Pechman on the federal court Web site.

Well for me its just prolonging the inevitable. And I would rather see a city hold a team like they are serious about rebuilding and putting best efforts on marketing the team. Oklahoma was desperate and nice enough to adopt the Hornets for a year, so I would give them a chance to have their own team. Personally, I want the Memphis Grizzlies to do the same...I know there's a lot of cities that are interested in having an NBA team...and that would be willing to spend a lot for their team.
As for Brand, reports say Warriors are offering him 90-100M.
Also, it looks like Josh Smith is heading to Philly...The Sixers are willing to offer some or their 11M contract in cap space... There goes Atlanta's season again.

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
Its Howard Schultz's fault. Shouldve sold it to someone who intended to keep the team in Seattle.
Really good news for Portland. Theyre on the rise and could very well collect a lot of new fans. People love a winner. With no team in Seattle I wouldnt be surprised if some of those fans start cheering for Portland.
Brand should take less and go back to the Clippers. The Warriors overachieved a couple years ago. If he goes back to LA he can play with another all-star a very underrated Chris Kaman and a talented Al Horford.
Part of me wants a great Laker/Clipper rivalry too. If Brand goes back to LA. This rivalry is on.

Very true. I am going to miss the rivalry. Even though both teams have been kind of down for the past couple of years (Blazers being down longer), the rivalry was still fun to watch. I feel bad for the Sonics fans.

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
I heard the Sonics can keep their nickname and and their team colors. They still have a chance of getting a team if they build a new arena or renovate the current one. It must be tough living in Seattle, where as it is depression is high...taking their team off kinda hurts. But you learn lessons and hopefully soon they can come back.
Darius Miles was suspended for 10 games for substance abuse...Like every NBA fans care...I didnt know he was still playing, he will do the blazers a favor by just retiring...He's a bum anyway.
Chris Kaman will play in the Olympics after all...No not to replace the injured Howard...he will be playing alongside Dirk Nowitzki as he received a german citizenship.

Portland waived Miles when a league doctor said he wouldn't be able to play anymore.
Sonics can get a team that wants to move, possible the Grizzlies.

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
The Warriors made an offer to EB just to save face. There's no way he's signing with the Warriors. He doesn't fit their style at all...
If I were Mullin I'd get Ellis and Biedrins resigned ASAP and try to make a pitch at Josh Smith...if they have cap space, that is.
As for the Sonics... watch the owner(s) cry when the attendance in OKC sucks.
