Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
It isn't much to look into since this is Summer League, but Bayless played like God today. He not only scored 36 points, but hit two clutch shots at the very end to give the Blazers the "W" in Summer League. Truly Amazing, I lovr Bayless.

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
Well you are giving them more credit then I am. I don't think we are a playoff team yet. I mean we could pull a Hornets, but we still need to grow together. The only reason we make the playoffs is because the Nuggest will NOT make it. So we might take there spot either us or the Clippers. I maybe a fan of them, but I am also a realist and the Blazers are going to have many growing pains this season and the biggest key of them all: We need to stay healthy. We could be lottery bound again

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
I urge everyone who hasn't seen Bayless play, go to http://www.nba.com/summerleague2008/scoreboard.jsp and watch the Blazer's game archive. Watch the 4th quarter. It's just Summer League, but Bayless is simply too amazing.

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
Bayless has just flat out owned the Summer League. I have seen every game on the Comcast sports Net channel (channel 37) that they have here in Oregon and it has been really awesome to see him. Now I hope he can do this in the league as well. At this point I would prefer him to start over Blake, although, Blake is probably the safer choice if we want to make a playoff run next season, but who knows.

I'm just a huge fan. But quite honestly, DJ is a really physical defender, and Douby is extremely quick, and caused a bunch of problems for Bayless/Koponen.

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
Shoot, Bayless will not play in the final game tomorrow because he has been invited to the select team to practice against the US Olympic team, I was hoping to see him again. Oh well that will be some great experience to go against Paul/Williams or Kobe depending on what position they put him in.

Yeah it was not exactly earth shattering news, but I love Bayless, so it had to be posted. :P

Re: Official NBA Offseason thread
I dont know...there's something about last name bayless that i despise. lol
Seriously, I thought bayless was a steal for the pacers and moreso for the blazers. Him and Chalmers have been surprising everybody in the summer league. But I like Chalmers better, the kid is taller, longer and plays defense. As for the Blazers, I think Roy's maturity together with Oden's presence will be enough for a playoff spot...but the question is if they can play defense collectively? If they do...I wont be surprise if they eliminate a veteran team like the Spurs and Mavs.
In other news: Turiaf is now officially with GSW, I think his game fits that system...but losing Pietrus, Davis and maybe Azubuike it will be tough to get all that offense back.
And Oklahoma Thunder? Thunder or Thunders or Thundercats? Thunder sounds lame...and I dont like the fact that it always come second to lightning... Maybe Snarf could be their mascot or Lion-O.
