Re: Official Rumours/Gossip/Transfers/Pre-Season Discussion Thread 08/09
I'd rather Barry stayed at Villa simply so we still have another decent team in the division.
Quote:
LIVERPOOL have made a shock move to sign Chelsea winger Florent Malouda for around £10million.
Preliminary talks with Malouda’s people have been positive enough to convince Kop boss Rafa Benitez the player will leave.
The French international almost joined the Reds last summer before Chelsea outbid them and offered £60,000 a week wages.
Benitez plans to move Ryan Babel to a more natural position on the right or behind Fernando Torres to free up the left attacking-midfield slot.
But the move is very much dependent on a takeover by DIC.
Meanwhile, Anfield flop Andriy Voronin is wanted by German side Stuttgart.
Voronin, 28, signed on a free last summer from Bayer Leverkusen and scored six goals.
The pony-tailed Ukraine striker is under contract until 2011 but Liverpool are prepared to let him leave on the cheap.

I don't know whether to or not.
He's not been convincing for Chelsea, so I dunno what Rafa is thinking. Maybe he can revive Malouda's form.
As for Stuttgart wanting Voronin, lolz. I'm sure no one at Pool would be sad to see the back of him. Fat Paris Hilton according to Arsenal fans.

Hmm, Malouda definitely needs motivation, and Rafa is good with player management, he wouldn't get away with being a tit here like he has at Chelsea.
He deserves another crack at the League anyway, so maybe I wouldn't mind him, but he's not high on my wanted list.
Highly doubt it happening though. Babel is not a right winger, and Gerrard is currently playing behind Torres, unless we go back to a 4-4-2. And I still think we're going to be lumbred with the American c*nts for some time yet.
And Voronin is fine in Germany. He's not the best finisher, but he gets into great positions and has alot of chances, he might convert them a tad easier in the Bundesliga.

Cheaper than most.
Still a good player.
And he'd be a regular starter for us, he's in and out at Chelsea, barely gets a chance.
They're the only reasons I can think of us moving for him. His first season has kind of put me off.

omgwtf I didn't see this thread.
I want Benzema, and a right back and maybe a left midfielder, because of Nani's inexperience and Giggs' old age.

We probably should go after a right back unless fergie wants to play someone we already have there which has worked so far this year but I think lahm would be a great addition to the team. In terms of other additions I'd love to see silva, miguel veloso and eto'o signed but if not eto'o someone like huntelaar would be good enough to add even strength to our attack.

Common sense should tell you it's highly unlikely.
