Re: Official Rumours/Gossip/Transfers/Pre-Season Discussion Thread 08/09
I can see why people think this Rinaldo business is only to maybe garner a new contract but he has been saying this for years without backtracking and I doubt he would have been after a new contract for 3-4 years.
Like many others, I don't expect him to leave right now but if he wins the Champions League and wins more major silverware next season (EG; Premiership, Champions League, FA Cup), he could seriously think about it.
I don't see why he would leave a team that has the greatest depth of squad in the world and some of the best young players, but everyone has a dream and I suppose going to play in Spain is his.

If he wants to go there towards the end of his career, so he can just live his dream, fine, I expect he'll do it one day, and have for a long time. But on a just football level, it would just seem rather idiotic right now, when you compare both teams.

Exactly. Real Madrid and Barcelona are nowhere near the level they were in the 1990's, imo.

Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted he will consider his Manchester United future after the Champions League final and would be tempted by a move to Real Madrid.
The Portuguese winger has become one of the hottest properties in world football after scoring 41 goals this season to help United retain their Premier League title and reach the Champions League showpiece.
Madrid have consistently voiced their interest in the 23-year-old and reports have suggested they would be prepared to part with around £100million.
Ahead of next Wednesday's meeting with Chelsea in Moscow, Ronaldo told Spanish TV network Antena 3: 'I am happy here but let's see what happens after the Champions League final.
'I am feeling calm here. I'm happy but in the future I don't know. I know Real Madrid like how I play and I know that other teams in Spain like my game as well, so that's good.
'It is good to know that other clubs are interested in you. I have said millions of times that I would love to play in Spain.'

There's the story that has all of you worried, so much.... Linky.
Really, it's stuff we already knew. He wants to play in Spain, eventually. And eventually, he probably will. But I don't see it happening for a couple of years. At the earliest.
But the way he contradicts himself, is kinda puzzling.

I think we're all annoyed, not worried. This shit really is getting dull, and he this time hasn't really helped, seeing as the media will put a spin on anything.

It's not a coincidence that this story comes out 5 days before the CL final.
The media is always looking for that distraction angle. It happens all the time.
You know if Ronaldo plays poorly, he's going to assaulted with questions regarding a transfer move. It's the nature of the media. They suck.

Well it's Ronaldo's fault for coming on-screen and admitting it. The press are not just going to ignore thay are they? The timing is down to him spilling it, not the press. Their stories are not exactly unfounded.

Why the fuck does he have to keep saying "My Dream is too play in Spain"? United have given him a life and made him a star for christ sake.

The fact the world heard him the first time was enough, he's only making trouble by repeating himself in basically every interview.

The problem is the media always ask him questions about wanting to play in spain so he really doesn't have much of a choice but to repeat himself.
