Re: Official Rumours/Gossip/Transfers/Pre-Season Discussion Thread 08/09
The most certain sources say that he's staying, but it's the huge amount of stuff about him going and the fact he's still not said much, which is making it so annoying.
I'm hoping it's just contract talks gone too far.

I don't think Ronaldo will go, everyone is telling me he will but something in my head or maybe my heart says he won't, and that he's after a new contract.

Nice to see on ManUtd.com that Evra is still doubting he gets to play for France.
Abidal is a good player no doubt, but I believe Evra is better and deserves to play as the French LB.
And on United things French, Saha prolly ain't going, it's also on our site.
Along with those nifty "Player Season Review" articles. I like reading them and the "Champions: Month Review" each time a new ones posted.

Saha might want to stay, which isn't a surprise, but I still think and I'd hope he'll be replaced by someone better and who's going to be fit more often.

I think the options we have up front are gonna be what we have next season in Rooney, Saha, Tevez, Manucho, Campbell and Welbeck. Six forwards is good, unless Campbell leaves to Hull permanately then I could see Fergie go for someone, but I just don't believe the speculation about Santa Cruz or Berbs, I do want either Benzema or Huntelaar tho. They'd be great additions.

I know if it's true, he definetley won't be used as bait. O'Neil is a prick, he wants as much as he can get for Barry. A straight swap of Barry and Crouch would do fine, imo.

Sure it would do Liverpool fine, but why on Earth will Villa accept a stupid deal like that. Also, I don't see how MON is a prick for wanting money out of Gareth Barry. He's arguable Villa's best player, and one of the best midfielders in the league so Villa losing him would be a blow, and just because Barry is looking to move on, it doesn't mean Villa should cut their loses and roll over for the big clubs. He's still under contract there and it should be up to the interested parties to meet Villa's evaluation of him. If anything, Rafa's the prick for making the audacious offer of Carson + Riise for Barry, before the season had ended.
Also, Finnan would be a decent buy for Villa just for the sake of making their squad bigger, and it looks like they're getting young Stearman from Leicester, so Finnan would be a good player to learn off before handing the reigns to the youngster.

Re: Official Rumours/Gossip/Transfers/Pre-Season Discussion Thread 08/09
Whoever made the comment of a Barry/Crouch swap being fair is fucking laughable.
How is O'Neil a prick for wanting as much as possible for Barry? Logic please.

I don't agree personally, I expect us to bring in another striker and sell Saha, and loan out, if not sell Campbell. Saha really is a waste of space, and I can see him being used as bait when we look to bring in his replacement.

Re: Official Rumours/Gossip/Transfers/Pre-Season Discussion Thread 08/09
If we did buy another striker I just dont see Fergie letting Saha go, fair go he wouldnt get much game time but the man has proven when fit he's got goals in him. I don't see Welbeck making the jump to the first team just yet fully and prolly can see Campbell loaned or sold and who knows what'll happen with Manucho, he could be a bargain or he could flop massively.
Still, if we were in the hunt for another striker, I'd really only want Benzema or Huntelaar.
And I have to agree with RM, Crouch swap for Barry isn't good enough.

Re: Official Rumours/Gossip/Transfers/Pre-Season Discussion Thread 08/09
If we get a new striker, the only reason he would still be at the club is because they couldn't get rid of him, which isn't likely, that's my take on it.
Saha could stay if Manucho can't get a work permit, that's possible.
