Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
That was a stupid ass move by Lebron. He rushed it when there was still plenty of time. That one move pretty much blew the game. Along with missed free throws.

For all his points, the play by Paul Pierce on the jump ball was the play of the game.

Otherwise great game by LeBron. He carried the team well, but the Celtics are just a bit better.

Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
It's a shame Lebron really has no one else. He has some decent role players on his team but he needs another all-star if he's going to take it to the next level.
Anyone think Boston can beat Detroit in Detroit?

Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
I really don't know. For now I see the Pistons/Celtics series being played out the same way the Hawks/Celtics and CAVS/Celtics were played out with the home team winning every home game.
You could make a case for the Pistons to take a game in Boston since they are fresh and Boston's played so much lately. On the other hand, Boston has the momentum and the Pistons could be rusty. It's up in the air.

Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
Boston can beat Detroit in Detroit, I believe they have earlier this season (correct me if I'm wrong), and they'll have to do it again because I'm sure Detroit will steal one in Boston.
Of course, if you can't beat Atlanta on the road...

If there was an exception to the "No player can do it alone" statement, it was the one and only, #23, Michael Jordan.

I would have believed you if Jordan carried the WIZARDS not the BULLS to the championship when he came back the 2nd time.
The Bulls would not have won those rings without Pip who is a perfect compliment to MJ and the Bulls bench. Pip did a great job defending the 6'9 PG by the name of Magic Johnson to win their first title. Everyone forgets guys like the true 6th Man, Toni Kukoc, Horace Grant, Dennis Rodman, John Paxson, Ron Harper and Steve Kerr.
That Bulls remind me of the Lakers today. With so many weapons and a deep, tough bench.
Finally a great bearable game to watch. Cavs just lost steam in the end. Good game from Lebron...I just didnt like the fact that he did not stick around to congratulate the Celtics...

Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
Great game. Glad to see the Celtics come on top and advance to the finals against the Pistons. Peirce really stepped it up and I haven't seen him such a game since last season, but it was good to see for a change. Lebron James played excellent, but once again him not having anyone to dish it to hurt their chances drastically.
Hopefully in the finals against Detroit the Celtics find ways to win on the road because I don't see them winning all their games at home because the Pistons are too good of a team. As long as they win 1 on the road, I think they have a chance to win the series.

Great win for the Celts. I'm still waiting for Ray Allen to contribute, it's getting pretty pathetic with him. P.J. Brown was awesome. Pierce was unstoppable.
I can see both teams getting 1 win on the road in the next series. Celtics over Pistons in 7.

Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
I can see Detroit taking Game 1 since they're fresh, Chauncey's had time to heal and their offense doesn't seem like one that needs to be hot to be effective. I think the Pistons pull it out in 7.
BTW, why do we have to wait until Monday for Spurs/Hornets? They could've have it tonight at 8 or moved Celtics/Cavs to noon.
