Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
Even though I want the Hornets to win in the end, I'm glad San Antonio won because at least it's a series now.

Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
The Celtics blew out the Cavs last night. Pierce and Allen finally got their groves back last night. But the big thing is that they keept James to just 21 points, which is pretty good. If they can keep that up, they will win the series.

There's no doubt that the Celts will take it, even if the series does go to seven. Game one showed how deep the Celtics are after seeing them beat the Cavs without the contribution of Pierce and Allen, and it showed how well they defended James.

Bayless is different, you can tell this guys has not been watching the NBA regularly, he just say what he wants to say which most of the time does not make any sense.
Just his analysis on Denver beating Lakers because he's not convinced of Kobe being a team player. Well Lakers swept and Kobe got his MVP...he has no credibility at all.

Like they always say, the series does not start until somebody loses at home. The Celitics have a good strategy but I am not too high on their defense, its just Lebron is taking what is given to him and the support players are not stepping up. Lebron has become a perimeter shooter in the series and the support are not doing anything to help him. Long range bombs from Gibson, West and Wally would open up the lanes for Lebron.
The reason that I am not that high on Celtics D is because Ive seen Joe Johnson dissect this defense... Atlanta is more athletic but cavs have better shooting...for the Celtics its easier to guard shooters than guys penetrating to the basket. Which is why I think Celtics would have an easier time beating Cavs and Pistons, than Lakers, NO and Spurs.
The Cavs should stop making Lebron bring the ball, make him come off screens where the defense is not spread out and so the defense wont have enough time to double him. Lebron is not a great shooter like Dirk who benefits from playing top of the key, he should come from the wing and use his quickness.

Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
Can someone explain to me how LeBron can fall out of bounds and get a foul call but Pierce can get slapped/scratched driving to the basket by LeBron but nothing gets called? I just can't fathom how some refs get some calls so ridiculously bad. Other than that from game 2, it's good to see LeBron still knows how to dribble a basketball.
I hope the C's can get at least one win at Cleveland.

The same way Michael Jordan and Karl Malone got all the calls throughout their careers and Dwayne Wade got all those bogus calls in the finals a couple years ago (I can distinctly remember him driving, getting touched by nobody, heck no one was even close, falling down, and getting a foul called). Mega stars get bogus calls, that's just how it is. The referees always give them the benefit of the doubt... and then some.

Those damn Spurs are getting so stale but they always end up winning when you count them out.. kudos to Paul who put on yet another amazing performance again despite the loss. Ginobili was on fire and San Antonio just went on a run with their crowd.

Utah needs a win tonight against the Lakers. They are leading the Lakers right now.

Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
Wow, Carlos Boozer put the Utah Jazz on his back tonight and, barring a miracle comeback by the Lakers, carried them to victory. Awesome performance by him, simply awesome.
Edit: May have spoken too soon, damn this is a good game.
Edit 2: Carlos Boozer put up 27 and 20. That's epic.
