Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
I loved the end of his interview with Michelle, his comment of 'What do (or can, can't remember which) you say now' is great, almost as good as Rodney Harrison's comments about 'Not bad for a bunch of old guys.'
I thought KG and Russell was emotional, that is something I think I won't forget, telling Russell he's got his own ring and asking if he made Russell proud.

Exactly. Don't hate on KG plz. Thx. His emotion was exactly what I expected. He's probably the most emotional and passionate player in the NBA.
Pretty sure I'd use KG as a emotional leader/bodyguard/gangsta' etc.

Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
Anyone else think that Boston vs. LA will happen again in next year's NBA Finals?? Boston is so far ahead of everyone else in the Eastern Conference ... unless the Cavs get a big name (Brand or Baron). The Lakers will have a tough time getting back through the West but having Bynum and Gasol on the floor at the same time should be beastly. I think that they are the two VERY early favorites to make it back next year ... with LA winning this time.

Exactly, there's a big chance we'll see Lakers vs C's once again next year. Already Kobe as point guard, Gasol on the forward and Bynum as a center, that we'll be one heck of a team. That was the the biggest problem for the Lakers this finals, they had Gasol on the center instead of the forward position. And of course no Bynum..

Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
Yeah I could possibly see a rematch, with the C's being light years ahead of the rest of the East defensively but it would also depend on who stays and goes.
Posey was a big part of this team and he will most likely be gone, that could be a big loss. As for the Lakers, with Bynum back full time they can only get better, but that Western Conference is tough and teams that didn't even make the playoffs like Portland or Minnesota should even be better as well.
And anybody hating on KG's emotion after this game really should look at things in perspective, everybody questioned his mental toughness and tenacity and he came thru won a championship. He deserves to be crying, screaming, shouting out, or whatever else he wants after that performance, there are many greats in NBA history who never got the chance to win a title and he just did it.
So many great stories out of this:
Pierce hanging tough with the team that drafted him
KG's redemption after years of 1st round exits
Doc Rivers perseverance thru calls for his job and also the death of his father this season
Ray Allen's son just being diagnosed with Diabetes and coming out and playing like a champion
PJ Brown getting his 1st title after 15 years in the league
Winning the title with a starting PG and C both under the age of 24 years old
Just pick one, there are so many great ones.

I dont want to rain on your parade because I think these guys deserved the title but lets not be too overdramatic and make it sound like these guys have redeemed themselves by doing the impossible. If there's anything they have done is to accomplish what is expected of them. I was more impressed when the last Pistons won it...because they are a bunch of unknowns who swept a team that has 5 HOF including the coach.
They have the sickest and deepest lineup in the NBA...and they proved that by having the best record in the regular season. The only reason why the Lakers are picked to win is because of their mediocre playoff perforamce. They are not asked to play beyond their capability because the team is so good that there's always somebody picking up the slack.
So much attention is given to the Big 3 that they finally won it, but for me they are just a combination of good players not being able to win on their own...So I give more credit to the one who put them together... Danny Ainge, the C's Coaching staff for pushing the right buttons especially the defense coach Tom T, and the bench which made the difference in this series...Posey, House, Powe, Brown, Casssell.

Hawks gave a better series than the Lakers
I'd rank Cavs as second after Boston seeing they were the closest team to defeating the Celts.

I don't think fair because if you would of put them against the Spurs, Lakers and other top teams of the West, they would of most likely lost.
