You can look at it both ways...the Lakers supporting cast with the exception of Sasha didnt show up too. That's a game that Boston should've won because it was all Kobe. They relied on Ray Allen alone defending Kobe down the stretch and paid the price.
I wsaid this before and I will say this again...The Lakers should give up on the big man matchup of Pau-KG and Odom-Perkins on defense. Because they are not getting anything from it. Odom is not a center and Perkins is a big body who rebounds. Odom's fouls come from helping and being outrebounded. If they need Odom to step-up, they should put him in a spot where he can play. To this day I still dont understand why they are putting their 7 footer guarding a man shooting from 18 feet. That is the reason why they are getting outrebounded.
Offensively, Lamar and Pau should take a good look at themselves on the mirror and say to themselves that you have long arms and you are tall...USE IT! You may have the quickness but that doesnt mean you play small like a guard. Whats up with these QUICK AND WEAK layups like they are afraid to get blocked? DUNK THE BALL OR LAY IT STRAIGHT TO THE RIM OR GLASS. That's why big men should learn a thing or 2 from Duncan...he rarely gets blocked because he use his length well to his advantage.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the Spurs/Lakers.

Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
I just heard about the Donaghy allegations, as a Kings fan going through that heartbreak I'll be pissed if the fixing was true, but it could just be Donaghy choosing the most controversial series in the decade and trying to spin it even further.
Stern denying it? Of course. But if one referee has been caught, who's to say no one else has done it before?

Re: 2008 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread
Hmm, yesterdays game was basically Ray Allen vs. Kobe Bryant it seemed like. Everyone else was non-existent except for Vujacic who really helped out Kobe in a big way. If Pierce and KG want to play like that again Lakers take game 4, however, if they step up and Gasol and Odom play like garbage I expect the Celtics to take it unless Kobe scores like 100 points or something.

Expect the Lakers to take the rest of their games at home, though Boston will indeed win in 7.

I dont recall saying anything about the Spurs. I said Gasol and Odom should learn from Duncan in using length to his advantage. These guys dont have to overpower opponents but they can use their quickness and length.
Gasol keeps bumping and tries to back down Perkins when Perk is clearly heavier and much stronger, Pau should use his speed to get position, stay away from his reach and go around his body.
Odom plays like a guard...unfortunately he lays it up like a guard too. He tries to sneak in a layup...for pete's sake if he's concerned of the shot blockers throw his body to the defender or tap the backboard ala Gary Payton. So the least the defender can do is goaltending.

Oh yeah, was that Odom at the very end of the game who took the last shot when he did not have to? He obviously wanted 2 more points to try and make himself look better, although, he was terrible.

You quoted my comment then said that KG traveled which had absolutely nothing to do with the conversation that was going on. He was talking about game 4 of the Spurs series and so was I that has nothing to do at all with KG traveling.

I remember that. It was pretty hilarious as he ended up getting called for an offensive foul.

Paul Pierce had a brutal game last night. I can definetely see him bouncing back with the Celtics pulling off a win in Lala land tomorrow night.

Too bad it did not end up biting him and the Lakers in the ass, would have been classic if somehow the Celtics could have won after that call (I don't quite remember how many points they were down by after that offensive foul call). Would have been hilarious though if the Celtis did somehow win.
