Pierce and Garnett played awful, but Odom and Gasol decided to take the night off for the most part as well. If the Lakers play like that again, this is done.

A 6 point loss when Garnett and Pierce go a combine 8-35, I doubt that will happen again. This was a game for the Lakers to lose, not the Celtics to win and the Lakers did what they needed to. Now Boston has two more shots at stealing a game in LA. Looks like they have a good shot at doing that after game 3.

The refs was not the reason the Celtics lost, KG and Pierce dissappeared. The calls were not even close to being lopsided like Game 2. Kobe went to the hole more and was aggressive and got help from Vujacic.

You can look at it both ways...the Lakers supporting cast with the exception of Sasha didnt show up too. That's a game that Boston should've won because it was all Kobe. They relied on Ray Allen alone defending Kobe down the stretch and paid the price.

I wsaid this before and I will say this again...The Lakers should give up on the big man matchup of Pau-KG and Odom-Perkins on defense. Because they are not getting anything from it. Odom is not a center and Perkins is a big body who rebounds. Odom's fouls come from helping and being outrebounded. If they need Odom to step-up, they should put him in a spot where he can play. To this day I still dont understand why they are putting their 7 footer guarding a man shooting from 18 feet. That is the reason why they are getting outrebounded.

Offensively, Lamar and Pau should take a good look at themselves on the mirror and say to themselves that you have long arms and you are tall...USE IT! You may have the quickness but that doesnt mean you play small like a guard. Whats up with these QUICK AND WEAK layups like they are afraid to get blocked? DUNK THE BALL OR LAY IT STRAIGHT TO THE RIM OR GLASS. That's why big men should learn a thing or 2 from Duncan...he rarely gets blocked because he use his length well to his advantage.

The Lakers didn't play nearly as well as I thought they would ... but they got the 'W' nonetheless. Kobe needs to shoot his foul shots better if they are going to have a prayer in this series. Garnett and Pierce didn't show up last night ... but Rey Allen did?? Lakers need to play better and they will. Series @ 2-2 after Game 4, imo.

If this is proven true...this would even be worse than the steoids of baseball. Because performance enhancers, not even umpires cannot determine baseball games like referee calls in a basketball game.

But the thing is Kobe showed up big and another role player for LA showed up and showed up big. Only Allen showed up for Boston. LA had everything to lose in game 3, they needed the win more than Boston and because if they lost, they'd be all but done. Yes, with Boston being as close as they were had a chance but ultimately this would be LA losing the game, not Boston winning it.

If Paul Perice and Kevin Garnet would of played better then Boston would of won. But they lost, Ray Allen had a good night but not enough for them to win, that's Boston hired more experienced players like PJ Brown and Sam Cassel to help out the squad but they didn't do nothing.

I agree with yoour points, its just that Lakers almost played the same as 1 & 2 but with a more aggressive Kobe. IF (and that's a big IF) Odom and Gasol starts feeling it and figure out a way to contribute...LA will surely win games 4 and 5 giving them the driving seat. And its not impossible to happen as they are still undefeated at home so far in the playoffs.

If that happens the Celtics would look back at this as a lost opportunity. And the big "3" in Boston who has not won a title, that's a break that you need to close it out. When you say its not a game for Boston to win...you cant have that attitude going to the game. You have to approach it like every game is a must win...because you dont want to go to game 7 or a must win game 6 where anything can happen regardless if you're playing at home. The crowd at Staples was anxious yesterday when they trailed by 7 points, i thought they were going to seal it.

So anyway, wtf was Boston thinking putting Allen 1v1 on Kobe? Are they dumb? Kobe is going to have his way with Allen in that situation, 99% of the time. And last night, 2 posessions, 4 big points that iced the game.
