First of all, any team that doesn't have an attitude of winning isn't going to win. It's not that hard to figure out.
And secondly show me an article where any player or coach or manager said they were going to come into Yankee stadium and easily win. I dare you to show me that article. You can't show me one because they don't exist. You get these little ideas in your head and you actually think about it so much you convince yourself it's true.
And right now the Rays on the Yankees. Look at the standings. It's clear. Now could that change? Of course it could there's alot of baseball left to be played. But on this date and time, the Rays own the Yankees.
That might be the stupidest thing I've read on here in the last six months. Where did I say you should boo when the Yanks win? Again, I didn't say it but somehow you convinced yourself I did... You seem to do that alot
Again, show me any article that stats that. Every major newspaper can be found on the internet... show us those articles you read. I'll be waiting.

Wow, you've really taken this shit to heart havent you? Talking to you is like talking to a fucking politician, everything needs to be politically correct and I cant stand up for my team because Ms. Logic needs to interfere.
Are you sure your a baseball fan? Seems to me your just here to retaliate everything I say. I said the Rays were cocky bastards because in the paper I read they aren't scared and aren't going to back down. Of course I don't think they are gonna say they are scared and don't want to play them because they do. My fanatic side just screams that there were cocky. Do I look like I know any of the Rays? No, so how the fuck do you know they said that without thinking they were cocky? I don't know, I assumed because god forbid I like my Yankees and don't want them to lose to a team thats ahead of them, and geez I don't know, maybe I'd like them to be in first place, right?
Sorry, I'm not 14 or younger, I was actually born in '82. If you cant do the math PM me and I'll be glad to do it for you.
Now I'm going to go watch the Yanks kick the [Sarcasm]Cocky[/Sarcasm] Pirate's ass.

Where did I say you can't stand up for your team? Please quote where I said that. Of course you can't do that because I never said it. But again, you're trying to convince yourself of something that never happened.

How does that make them cocky? And you still haven't even produced the paper you supposedly read where they were acting so arrogant and cocky. I wonder why you haven't linked us to that article yet... Hmmmmmm
And yes I'm a baseball fan. Not just some blind fanatic of a single team which would make me unable to enjoy all aspects of the sport.

You assumed how the Rays players felt... That's where your problems begin.
And I have no problem for you rooting for the Yankees. Why would I, or anyone else, have a problem with that. The problem I have is you acting like the Rays are so cocky and arrogant when you have absolutely NOTHING to back it up with. But that's okay, don't let the facts get in the way of your argument.

I think Longoria deserves the All-Star spot more but I wouldn't have minded seeing Giambi in the HRD.

The Brewers finally got their bats going against the Rockies today. To bad it was the fourth game of the series.

For someone who was born in '82, you really need to get your definition of cocky straightened out.
that doesn't make them cocky at all. That's just them saying that they aren't scared and are not gonna back down. And they have every right to say that because they've been the laughing stock of the league since they joined. They're letting everyone know they are here to stay and not to take them lightly.
If they were being cocky, they woulda said "The Yankees are behind us, we're going to take this series easily. Who do they even have that's worth noting on that team?".

NEW YORK -- Evan Longoria had big plans for next week's All-Star break -- a trip to Las Vegas with some friends.
Tampa Bay's rookie third baseman ended up with an even better trip to New York for the last All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium.
Longoria and Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Corey Hart were elected All-Stars by fans in Internet balloting that ended Thursday.
"I'm sure they'll find a way to get to the game now," Longoria said of his abandoned buddies.
Hart got the news from Brewers manager Ned Yost as he walked into the Miller Park interview room with his two young children after Milwaukee's 11-1 win over Colorado. A couple minutes into his news conference, about a dozen of his teammates rushed into the room and sprayed Hart and his children with beer, loudly cheering his first-time selection.
Milwaukee supported the outfielder with its "I Hart New York" campaign, and Hart himself did several interviews a day to drum up support.
"It was a frustrating experience, but it paid off with all the campaigning. Now, it's worth it," said Hart, who hit his 15th homer in the Brewers' win Thursday and is batting .292 with 57 RBIs.
Longoria received 9 million votes for the AL spot and was followed by Jermaine Dye of the Chicago White Sox, Jason Giambi of the New York Yankees, Brian Roberts of the Baltimore Orioles and Jose Guillen of the Kansas City Royals.
Longoria had a .281 average, 16 homers and 53 RBIs entering the AL East-leading Rays' game at Cleveland on Thursday night.
"He earned it," Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said. "He made a strong push in the last month. It's quite a testament to him."
Hart got 8 million votes and was followed by the New York Mets' David Wright, Philadelphia Phillies' Pat Burrell, San Francisco Giants' Aaron Rowand and Houston Astros' Carlos Lee.
"Naturally, I'm disappointed," Wright said. "The only thing I'm concerned about now is helping us to get back to the postseason."
Major League Baseball said a record 47.8 million votes were cast, more than double last year's 23.1 million.
One more roster spot remained to be filled, with NL manager Clint Hurdle having to decide on a replacement for injured Chicago Cubs outfielder Alfonso Soriano. The Colorado Rockies' Matt Holliday, originally selected as a reserve, will replace Soriano in the starting lineup.

Congrats for both Longoria and Hart on getting the all-star nods.

No shit.
You do realize your telling me things I already know.
Why would I want them to come into Yankee stadium saying "We're scared of them" of course not? What fun is that? I'd rather them not be scared and get beaten then be scared and get beaten. They had swagger, to me thats being cocky in their own right since they havent had a successful season at all. It's good to finally see them get good, it hurt me to watch them lose every year, but I'm going to defend my team no matter what, so I dont really care what you say.
For such a little tidbit statement, you people sure did blow this shit up. Next time I'll write a description and vivid meaning behind everything I say, just for you folks.

Btw, did anyone see SportsCenter when Corey Hart's daughter got scared half to death?

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
The Red Sox are taking on the Orioles tonight at Fenway and the starter for Boston is...Clay Buchholz. Another no-hitter perhaps? Nah, but wouldn't that be something

Considering the way the Orioles are playing, I wouldn't be surprised if that did happen.
