Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Hell minus the age difference Gaudin is a pretty even trade for Gallagher. Cubs in effect got two starting pitchers. One potentially great one if healthy.
Unless Mark Mulder can make a miraculous comeback for the Cardinals, both Milwaukee and Chicago will be going to the playoffs. The other two divisions are too weak to produce a wild card winner.

We'll see about it.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
I really don't think the Yankees will make the playoffs this year. Red Sox win the East and Rays get the Wildcard imo.

Sean Gallagher is the only name you need to learn. He's going to be a good 3rd or 4th starter. Probably similar to John Maine.

That's my fear. Praying for a 2007-like run in the second half.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Shit happens in the second half of the season, so I am as well hoping for a run like that. Hopefully they get their shit together.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Even though I despise the Yanks, I don't know how anyone can realistically count them out. I wouldn't be shocked one bit if they made a run to the playoffs and made it. It's going to be a little harder this year though, having to jump over both the Sox and Rays in the East and any other team fighting for a Wild Card spot. Right now the Wild Card is pretty interesting, with Boston and the Rays from the East, Oakland and Texas from the West(neither will be there at the end of the year) and Minny, Chicago or Detroit from the Central.

Loving the A-rod left hand reach around steal at second.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, Watch the Yankees/Rays segment on Baseball Tonight later on.

If you're talking about the play where Navarro tried to pick him off leading at second, he was out. Replay clearly showed the Rays player still tagged his right hand before his left got back to the bag. Great play, but umps missed the call.

No shit, but he was safe right?
Though I've never seen anyone do something like that.
