Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
First big hit of the season for Thomas. Talet is looking great this year thus far, seems to be filling the set up role right now with Accardo being the closer. Should make things interesting once BJ Ryan returns.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Yeah Talet looked excellent against the batters he faced. Their bullpen is just getting better and better, although in my opinion they could get rid of Scott Downs to another team.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Downs isn't worth much so might as well keep his as he can make fill in starts when needed, which could come in handy with Janson gone for the year. Clutch hit there for Eckstein, 6-3 now .

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
If their pitching is as good as it was last year in the 2nd half then it is possible. They need to score more runs than they did in the 2 losses vs. the Yankees though.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
They need to stay healthy more than anything. I have no doubt in my mind that when they are healthy, that starting rotation is one of the best in the majors. imo, they're better then the Yankees rotation. If Wells can bounce back and Rios can keep on improving i think they can be in the run for the division, wild card easily.
What I'm really liking this year is how agressive they're being on the base paths. Guys like Rios and Wells should be trying to steal more often then not, but the last few years they werent allowed. Puts more pressure on the pitcher and, we saw it last night, bad throw or the SS/2B misses it, you're at third base.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
I think the Jays are rapidly improving, and I hope they win the east in a few years. Did i read they signed Rios for 6 or 8 years today?
