Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Nice to see the Sox avoid the sweep yesterday. Youk with the game ending homer Arizona tonight will be tough, got Dan Haren going for the D-Backs. At least Boston missed Brandon Webb.

Completely Useless By September
I know when the playoffs are. I witnessed a World Championship. Seriously though the series is just another series to me. I don't hate the Cubs why should I hate them? We play them 6 times a year and only because it brings in outside media. I hate teams like the Tigers and the Twins.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
The Sox lost in a pitchers duel last night to the D-Backs. Both Haren and Beckett pitched great(duh, it was a pitchers duel right...) but Youk too a ball to the eye during middle inning warm ups and had to leave the game due to his eye swelling up pretty fast. He should be fine, his CT scan came back negative. Hopefully he doesn't miss much, if anytime.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Well I'm getting ready to head to Dallas this weekend to go catch two baseball games, and then go to Houston and catch probably two as well. I don't know the matchups for the games in Houston but it will be the Dodgers vs. the Astros. But here's the matchups for tomorrow and Saturday's games...
Philadelphia Phillies: Brett Myers
Texas Rangers: Kason Gabbard
Saturday's Game
Philadelphia Phillies: Cole Hamels
Texas Rangers: Vicente Padilla
I bought tickets last minute for Saturday's game when I saw that Hamels and Padilla were going to be pitching. Normally I'm not a big fan of Padilla but he's had an amazing year so I can't miss this pitching match up. I'm a big fan of Interleague ball as I've been to numerous Interleague games such as Boston vs. Atlanta, Tampa Bay vs. Houston, and Baltimore vs. Houston so I'm really pumped to see the Phillies come to Arlington. It should be a good series to see Utley, Howard, Burell, Hamilton, Bradley, and co. all in the same ballpark.
As for the Astros I'm ready to see them play the Dodgers next week. I'll be there Monday and possibly Tuesday. No pitching matchups are confirmed but I'm thinking Oswalt will pitch one of those days since he pitched last night. Either way it'll be cool to go back to Houston for the first time since I've been there in 2004 about three or four weeks after they hosted the All-Star Game.

The Yankees has had a slow start at the beginning of the season. But there are turning for better things as they moved from 5 to 3 which is a good improvement in the last couple of weeks. I think the Rays are going to go down hill after the All Star Break. They have been impressive though. Nobody would've thought they would be #1 in the Wildcard atm.
To KOP: I could see why interleague play is interesting. I love seeing some teams from the AL face the NL and vice versa. You never know those two teams could be facing each other in the WS. I personally think where the Rangers play is a hitter's park. Now if you count Howard and number of people you mentioned it's going to be a interesting game.

Subway Series today.
I love the two-stadium double header games. I wish they had these every year.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Does anybody know if and how I can stream the Yankees/Mets game? Television or radio broadcast it doesn't really matter.
BTW, my MLB.TV subscription expired.

Get DirectTV, best stream you can have.
Jesus, I was so hyped for the double header today, and the Yankees are getting butt raped in the first game. As of right now, Giese sucks.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Grady Sizemore just made an unbelievable catch to rob Adam Dunn of a double... Make sure you look for that catch on Sportcenter tonight.
