Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
I feel like making predictions for who is going to make the playoffs. I'm usually not even close with any of my sports predictions.
American League
East - New York Yankees
Central - Chicago White Sox
West - Anaheim Angels
Wildcard - Boston Red Sox
National League
East - Philadelphia Phillies
Central - Chicago Cubs
West - Arizona Diamondbacks
Wildcard - Florida Marlins

Schilling to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery
Schilling's season is over and a good chance his career too. Terrible news I think for the Sox, he can always get it done in the playoffs. It was a risk to resign him after last season and it didn't pay off.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
That really sucks. I was kind of counting on him being there at the end. Beckett needs to step up and pitch like he did last year. I guess they should go with the rotation of Beckett, Lester, Wakefield, Dice-K, & Colon when everyone is healthy. I'm not really sure what you do with Buccholz or Masterson.

Odd, very, very, very odd.

Whats also odd is how bad the NL is. The Yankees are kicking Interleague play right in the balls. Sweep in Houston and sweep against San Diego, I hope it translates to Cincinnati. Hopefully when league play is back to normal, they can carry momentum into it. I just don't understand how the Yankees can pick up Ponson again, that guy sucked my ass and was hyped up pretty good. His first start was ok but then it just went to shit after that.
I say Hughes & Kennedy for Sabathia

I'm going to a AAA Pawtucket Red Sox game tonight, and Clay Buccholz is making the start! This is going to be fun.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Mid-Season Predictions
AL East: Red Sox
AL West: Angels
AL Central: Tigers
AL Wild Card: Rays (not the Yanks )
NL East: Phillies
NL West: Dodgers (Once they get healthy, one of the best teams in NL)
NL Central: Cubs
NL Wildcard: Mets (They will get it right)
Anyone else love that Cubs-Sox game today?? No better way to stop a 3-game skid than beating Ozzie & Co.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
What a great slide by Cabrera in the Reds/Yankee game to score on a play at the plate to give the Reds a 4-1 lead.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Thanks J... I think more baseball bookie events would be great.
And two in a row over the Yankees by the Reds. I'm loving it.
