Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Daisuke left the game last night in the 4th because of "shoulder fatigue." No one is really sure what happened to Daisuke and are unsure if he'll be ready to start his next scheduled start on Monday. I hope and think he will, it doesn't seem too serious but the Sox may take a lot of precaution and skip his start until they know for sure whether he's fine or not, there's no reason to put their 2nd best pitcher in potential trouble this early in the season.

He will be fine. It might have to do with throwing a lot pitches the last few starts. I know he is used to it but it can catch up to you. I think that Clay might be back by that time, so I could see him taking the spot.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
I really hate west coast swings. They never go well for the Red Sox. Especially Safeco field (even though we got one game there). The Mariners could be the worst team in baseball (which they pretty much are right now) and the Red Sox will always get mauled there. That field is like kryptonite to the Sox. It's crazy how good this team is at home and how crappy it is on the road. Luckily next up we're back at the friendly confines of Fenway South (Camden Yards)

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
I feel bad for Baltimore. Their own fans are outnumbered every time they play the Yanks or Sox

It's hilarious (or sad if you're an Orioles fan) when the "Let's go Red Sox!" chant starts up and the Orioles fans try to stop it but they can't because they are outnumbered 2 to 1 or even 3 to 1 in their own stadium.
On the plus side, the ticket sales are always good when New York or Boston comes to town.

Masterson is going to start. They moved his start in AAA from Saturday to Today, and is supposedly going to take Dice-Ks start. Finally, I don't understand why they don't pitch him more. He should be 2-0 and no player has touched his slider in his 2 starts. But Francona LOVES veterans so I don't think they will pitch Masterson a lot this year unless there is a string of injuries.
