Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
I hope Carlos Marmol is next in line to become Cubs closer, since I have him on my team.
The good news is Piniella could pull the plug on Wood early and put Marmol in. If Wood hadnt have won the job there wouldve been all this local media scrutiny for Wood to be made the closer.
Good news both Garland and Weaver (albeit in a losing effort) pitched well. Garland was fantastic for the Angels, only 1 run over 8 innings but no K's.
Just avoid an awful start and we'll have Lackey back in May. I dont believe the Angels are crucial as it was last year. Both Kendrick and Kotchman are going to have breakout years.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Daisuke Matsuzaka looked great last night in the Sox win over the A's. He could have gone 7 innings or maybe even 8(his pitch count was getting a little high, but could have easily finished the 7th) but Tito took him out with 2 out in the 7th. But still a dominate performance, 2 hits, the only run coming off an opposite field homer by Jack Cust. No walks and 9 strikeouts, that's the Daisuke the Sox are going to need all season.

If he can give you at least 7 innings with less than 3 runs scored each game, that would be huge. It was a performance that Dice-K needed last night. And he did the job.

Did any of y'all see the Milk Man deliver last night vs the Blue Jays?
Both, Wong and Halladay pitched great last night but Milkey was the diffrence...... A Homerun and 2 outfield Web Gems.
Yankees won 3 to 2.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
high powered Tigers offense is off to a slow start. Royals start 2-0 for only the second time in like 26 years i think they said lol. The "Season of Butler" begins! lol
Jays looking to bounce back tonight against the Yanks after a close one yesterday. Hoping Burnett can stay healthy this year because he's shown he can pitch when he is. He's up against Moose i think tonight, who's definitely looking for a bounceback year.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Jon Lester pitched a very good game today for the Sox. 6 2/3 of shutout ball, 3 walks and 3 K's. Back to back great starts from the Sox pitching, I hope this continues and Beckett still hasn't pitched.
David Ortiz finally showed up, hitting a 2run homer. Manny on the other hand, 0-4 with 8 men left on base
