Mike Timlin is pitching in the 11th inning of the ALCS.

Ah man Francona never ceases to amaze me.

Atleast we got Lester going Monday.

No, that's was the move that Francona had to make. He was down to Timlin and Byrd. You have to save Byrd for latter innings if they keep on going. Timlin was the chosen one and he didn't come through.

Timlin is the worst pitcher on the team. He shouldn't even be on the playoff roster.

Byrd can pitch 4-5 innings. Timlin should be the last possible option.

It isn't just about that either. He just makes dumb decisions all the time. That was just another one.

I didn't mind Timlin pitching, I didn't want him on the roster but with it being down to Timlin and Byrd it's really at that grey area of do you go with the starter for a long relief in the 11th or wait until he's the last possible option. Doesn't really matter because the Sox split and that was really all that was needed. Now if they take 2 out of 3(which they should) at Fenway they have two shots at the series win in Tampa. Could have been worse last night, Gagne could have been pitching.

Rays tie things up, atleast the ALCS isn't a landslide.

They only really need to win 1 in Boston.

I feel good about the Sox chances in game 3. Lester on the mound will do that for you.

BTW I love all the hate the Red Sox are getting. Not just from Yanks fans on the east coast but now from the west coast too. Keep the hate coming people, it puts a smile on my face to know that my favorite team frustrates the hell out of people and on 2 coasts too. Now if we could just get some heat from the heartlands we'd have the whole country covered. Hell, bring some hate from Canada too, eh?

Well, they needed a 12th pitcher and he was it. I don't want Timlin in either but there isn't much you can do about it.

The Blue Jays suck ass, don't expect any hate from there.

When the Rays win the ALCS, I will remember this post.

I flip flop too much in baseball, being from Pittsburgh will do that to you with no real team to root for. At first I wanted an LA/LA World Series and despise the Red Sox, now that they've won I hate the Rays even more so am now pulling for a Sox/Dodgers WS. I do like the Phillies too so as long as the Rays don't win I'll be a happy camper. The WS is a complete different story as I'll definitley want the NL team to win.
