That was a great move by the Red Sox's to get him to throw out the first pitch. And he got a well deserved reaction from the crowd. It was a special moment.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Amazingly enough we have two NL teams having their pitchers bat 8th in St. Louis and Milwaukee. Looks like its working so far. The Brewers are 6-1 and the Cards are 6-2.
I guess it could make the pitcher less of an automatic out with you 8th hitter being your weakest and create more sacrifice opportunities.
Fuckin Justin Speier, he blew that game for the Angels. Our bullpen is in shambles right now. Starting pitching has been great. I still say K-rod will have big year because its his contract year.

You remember when he was the best closer in the game. He wasn't the same pitcher after coming back from Tommy John surgery. He had some great stuff but after the injury, his stuff wasn't as good as before the injury. I don't think that he is a legit closer in the league anymore. He could still be a useful bullpen guy, but I think he is done as a legit full-time closer. And they payed 10 million for this guy.

Well, that was only a joke but I do agree, it was a great moment. I was very glad he got a great ovation.
Now when/if the Cubs win a WS, they need to bring out Steve Bartman to throw out the 1st pitch

That was embarassing, I was watching on TSN this morning the highlights of that game. Oh well the Jays blew their game in the top of the 9th with Accardo giving a RBI Triple that gave them the go ahead run. Was hoping Wells would have came up with a big hit to either tie or win the game for them in the bottom of the 9th.

Re: 08 MLB season discussion thread
Royal beat the Yankees twice, going against argubly there best two picthers.
This season is already starting to look scary. Its like the exact same position we were in last year. Everyone is on the same hitting cycle.
We score a average of 3 runs a game thats horrible. The two highest games we scored points was scoring 4 against The Devil Rays, and they blew us out 13-4, and 6 against In the last Rays game, in which Mussina only allowed one run.
