id take a youngish winger/attacking midfielder and a center back
id sort the left back situation in the summer, way i see it milners playing well so if somethings not broke dont try to fix it

for other clubs it will be a very interesting window, i think everton need at least 4 quality players which can be difficult for a January window, more attacking options as they seem to be in a 'rom or nothing' sort of situation at the moment

Manchester United appear to be getting lindeorf i cant lie havent seen too much of the lad so ill save my judgement til then, hope they dont get griezmann

chelsea if they get veratti have pulled off the signing of the window for me, marvellous player

That won't happen in January. Very unlikely in the summer too, but would love us to push hard for it. As I said in the other thread, this January we should just look to bolster the squad and get it ready for next season (and also enough to have a proper run in the FA Cup this term). I say 3 signings would be nice. van Dijk would fit in well in Cahill's position. A left wing back would be very handy. In the summer, a big signing to play alongside Costa and Hazard and a big signing to play alongside Kante should be the priority. Maybe a solid option for right wing back if Aina proves not up to the job.

Courtois/Begovic
Azpi/Zouma Luiz/Christensen New/Cahill
New/Moses Kante/Chalobah New/Matic New/Alonso
New/Pedro Hazard/Willian
Costa/Batshuayi

Young keeper, Baker, Musonda and a young striker filling out the squad.

That's what I think the aim should be for next season. I have in my mind who the "New" people should be, but I'll leave it as it is.

In my vision it does mean that I believe we should sell Fabregas. Well, I more expect him to want to leave after dropping down th epecking order and that's fair - he's still a quality player, but he has his limitations. Also means the end of the road for Terry and Ivanovic and the likes of Aina and RLC going out on loan.

I don't know if you need Kante and Matic playing together for 90% of the season. Sure in a game like City away put them together but I'd want a more creative playmaking CM alongside Kante with Matic as the 3rd option to deputise Kante and give tactical alternatives in certain games. But Conte does have Fabregas and isn't choosing him. But it is also Fabregas and they can upgrade on a better version of what Fabregas brings. They should definitely be looking for another LWB. I'd want an upgrade on Alonso personally as an attacking entity but definitely a deputy because if Alonso gets injured then what? Move Azpi there and then you're down a CB which isn't massive as Terry and Zouma can come in. Same for RWB. Ivanovic looks done now and again Azpi looks the main deputy. I wouldn't be high on playing him as a wing back though because I'd want more of an attacking threat from wing backs. There's a spot for a player of Hazard and Costa's talent to join them in that front 3. Willian and Pedro work but it's an area for improvement. Draxler would have been a good get but that's passed now. I'd say an upgrade on Cahill too but that won't happen.

I don't get why we're signing another CB. Maybe Smalling really is out of favour. I've noticed him in the few Benfica games I've seen but maybe he comes in and is another Vidic and it's all worth it. I'd much rather that money spent on a quality RB but then again money is no restriction for us mwahahaha. We should be all in for Sturridge this window but that won't happen. We'll have Zlatan for 2 seasons and then we'll be well and truly fucked for CFs when he goes. Although tbf I can see him playing for 3-4 seasons here. Not like he has any pace to lose. He's a player built to play up to 40 at a high level. But we need a 2nd CF option anyway. Can't remember the last time any of Rooney, Martial or Rashford played up top. Martial's best running at players so on the wing suits him better, Rashford is similar but he's also still learning a lot and Rooney will be dead next Christmas if he can't get a new liver. Need a top class holding midfielder too. At least we've finally figured out we need that type of player with Carrick. Just a shame that Kante wasn't on the market this summer looking for a move to a big club in England and wasn't bothered by not having Champions League football this season.

his attitude has been questioned by various ex players and managers including ian wright, danny mills, david fairclough, aldo, phil Thompson and the rest of the soccer Saturday panel
his youth team coaches at city branded him 'arrogant and lazy' which can be seen consistently in his play for us

klopp and rodgers have been questioned about it on a number of occasions showing that others at least share my views looking at daniel

lets not pretend these claims have never been made and dont have substance when they clearly have

We've been linked with the Villa LB, Jordan Amavi, today. Dunno much about him tbh, but he's apparently been playing well since recovering from a broken leg. Milner has done a solid job IMO, so I'd probably prefer a CB for now and address the LB situation in the summer. Unless we can get both in Jan.

Although I would like another attacking mid/fwd in Jan too.

Oh and Lucas has been linked with Inter, too.

I do admit to getting annoyed at his incessant injuries, but he's one of the best of his kind in the division and on his day, can turn a game. I don't want him sold as long as he wants to stay tbh. We probably do need another top forward tho, if not, at least another midfielder who can operate in those channels imo.

I'm very 50/50 with Studge. I pondered with the idea of us selling him back in the summer as he's super injury prone and for the most part wasted wages. That being said he's still one of the best out and out strikers in the country and can be off injured for 2 months come back and make a difference in mere minutes of stepping back onto the pitch, there really isn't much strikers out there that can do that and the ones that can don't come cheaply. Until we can find an out and out replacement who is less injury prone it makes no real sense to sell him.

"I believe that if someone needs to be convinced by money, then at one point - when you really need character - you will not get it.

“Players should know they can earn really serious money here, reasonable money here, but we will not go nuts. We want to convince players about the special character of the club.

“Nobody has to leave Liverpool because of money. Maybe there are a few clubs in world football who can play better and if you can go there, these few clubs, yeah then do it."
- Jurgen Klopp

Appeared to be a sly dig at Draxler maybe, who we were apparently after too.

Seems the Lindelof deal is off for January at least. I think Fonte would be a more likely and more sensible target.

I can see why we'd be looking for more depth there. Jones/Rojo have been pretty fantastic in defiance of all footballing logic but Jones can't be relied on to stay fit and Rojo is still struggling to grasp the rules of the game. I doubt Mourinho sees that as his long term pairing.

I don't think he likes Smalling at all - Since the Chelsea game he's been hugely critical of him. Honestly think he's quite overrated anyways. Had a fantastic first 4 months to last season but always has a mistake in him. Think LVG's possession style may have protected him a bit too tbh.

Bailly has been fantastic but will miss games with the ACON. He clearly sees Blind as a LB now.

Not sure why we'd need to sign a RB. Valencia has been consistently excellent for about 18 months now and Darmian/Fosu Mensah are adequate cover. Not a huge fan of Darmian personally but his versatility is a good asset as a squad player.

The priority for the summer has to be a Carrick replacement but I don't see us doing anything in January. It's the happiest I've been with a United squad for a long time.

Arsenal will complete the signing of Hednesford defender Cohen Bramall in the next 48 hours, according to Sky sources.

The left-back impressed during a short trial at London Colney before Christmas and has been training with the club since then

Bramall has passed a medical examination and will join on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

Hednesford, who play in the seventh-tier Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, are expected to receive around £40,000 for the 20-year-old.

Arsenal currently have experienced international players Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs competing for the left-back position in their senior side.

Just fuckoff Arsene

a month where we probably won't buy anybody and i have to deal w/ defoe to west ham rumours. Great. There is literally no amount of money we could sell him for that would make any sense because where else are we going to get a player who is as close to guaranteed goals as defoe is? Plus west ham aren't exactly miles ahead of us this season

An English Football legend in Mikel John Obi has today left for China and not one mention about it? This lad has won more than Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool combined in his 10.5 years at Chelsea and not an ounce of respect shown to him.

FOR SHAME. FOR FUCKING SHAME.
