Guys I'm fucking heartbroken, we just lost a national treasure, golf's most beloved figure and greatest ambassador, and one of my idols, this is a dark, dark day in sports....
Arnie was one of the true greats in the sport of golf and a wonderful ambassador for the sport. I grew up in Augusta, GA, home of The Masters, and Arnold Palmer is big hero to folks. He will be truly missed.
I have a "friend" who is 40+ who always make excuses that he's past his prime....I bet Palmer and Jack Nicklaus were both at their best in their 40s right?
RIP to one of the best ever. This really hits home for me. Where I'm from is 15 minutes away from Latrobe, his hometown. Hell, I fly out of the Arnold Palmer airport all the time. He was still very active in the local community. He will definitely be missed, especially in my neck of the woods.
Palmer, Ali, and Howe all just a couple months apart. All were all time greats in their sport.
