According to PWinsider, there has been alot of backstage talk among officals and Del Rio himself of how succesful his planned babyface turn went. There were some people backstage, said to have been unsure on the idea of turning Del Rio and for weeks the idea was nixed on many occasions. It had also been said that Del Rio was pushing to freshen up his character, and with WWE looking to expand more into the hispanic market, he went to Vince McMahon and personally asked him to change into a fan-favourite. Vince McMahon was also said to be very keen on the idea, and that Del Rio personally asking to freshen up his character, gained him alot of support from the boss himself.

Freshened-up it certainly is, as a casual I like to see both gimmick and in-ring style go hand-in-hand. The whole "it's my DESTINY" was painfully repetitive and uncreative.

I sympathised with this CM promo, one dimensional was ADR, now I look forward to him.

not surprised. he needed a big change with the way heel person was going. its was a big joke and colossal train wreck .

Also not surprised abbout ADR being the one behind this. The guy doesn't take BS slightly and if he doesn't like what he is doing he will let his peers know about it. He is one of their smartest guys

Wwe should have brought him in as a face to begin with. Basically how he was in Mexico just without the mask. They went about his turn shitty but he has been doing awesome. Let him do his moves del rio knows he should have never been heel anyway. Good for him realising he needed a change and actually saying something to the boss instead of bitching on twitter etc.

Well good to see Del Rio got the politics side down. I doubt many superstars go talk to Vince about their character. Well I am guessing Del Rio must be comfortable with Vince since you can tell Vince likes him a lot, so that helps.
