Punk hasn't looked good on the mic to me, he's just looked protected while Rock's looked censored and forced to put Punk over rather than hurt his image any. Got to insult Rock (which realistically would've gotten him buried or stole on), yet Rock's only reply was to put him over as a force? You can't seriously tell me that isn't script protection.

And that is the same reason why Punk didn't get put over in his feud with Jericho. The WWE tried to protect Punk and worried about continuing his title reign instead of having Jericho beat him as soon as he came back. If Jericho had beaten Punk immediately and then Punk won the title back at Wrestlemania, after earning his Best in the World title, then he would've been a bigger star than he is now. Every time they coddle these PG Era stars and water down the legends, to feign the illusion of equality, those PG stars end up taking a hit in popularity.

They have completely different styles of cutting promos.

I don't expect CM Punk to cut an Armaggedon type of promo like Rock.
Neither do I expect Rock to cut a promo like CM Punk did in Summer of Punk against Vince.

The Armageddon promo was nothing special. Good but a little overrated IMO.

Of course. It's just the nature of the business, it's called putting young talent over.

I also think that they have different styles.

Punk talks truth

Promo wise, Punk might be better than current Rock, but in his prime(1999), Rock was a differnt beast, and he would've eaten Punk alive.

Best Smackdown in weeks. Bar a few needless segments it was great. The Rocky/Punk/Shield segment was intense. Dissapointed they didn't show the whole thing but it's still got me hyped for the Rumble.

It was an enjoyable SmackDown at parts, with solid promos from CM Punk and The Rock and a great main event, unfortunately no match (bar the six-man tag) felt particularly worthwhile at all, but more like filler. I'll take it though, after the show had ended I felt satisfied (which can be rare for the blue brand nowadays) and that bit more hyped for the Royal Rumble, so as far as I'm concerned it was a success, just don't expect much from most matches.
